In order to solve the problem that Chinese students lack creativity, the article analyzes the element of "school institution" which has great influence on students' creativity and try to find the causation of Chinese school institution that curbs students'creativity. Then, the way to alleviate the extent of school institution that inhibits students'creativity was construed and explicit reform measures were raised.In the beginning, the notion of creativity was inquired. Now that the notion of creativity is obscure and uncertainty, the article tries to qualify the concept of creativity according to its basic meaning. According to the article, creativity is the ability to pursue novel things, to solve problems and to demolish tradition; besides, there're ways to evaluate creativity but no way to set up criterions for it. Creativity is composed of various elements in which the key elements include inquiry, criticize, self-determination, knowledge and its usage.Students'creativity is particular in that it appears as "creativity of self-realization" which fits the age and it's the key period for developing during the schooling stage.School institution has various functions, including restrict choice, regulate students'behaviors and mold their thoughts.On one hand, school institution promote the development of students'creativity for that it provides value orientation and secure the impart of knowledge with high efficiency; on the other hand, school institution cumbers the development of students'creativity for that it limits the scope of inquiry, impart authority and maintain the group life. However, the Chinese school institution currently engenders negative effects on the development of students' creativity on the whole:coercive school institution curbs students'thoughts and behavior; enlarged school institution intervene students'daily life severely and rigid school institution impedes the development of students'creativity.The counterwork of school institution on the development of students'creativity results the lack of Chinese students'creativity, which appears on the lack of the spirit and ability of inquiry, criticize, self-determination and the usage of knowledge.Great harm was reduced by the lack of students'creativity, including the national innovation, citizen competition, individual life value and freedom.The distortion of school institution was induced by the prejudice of supervisors and teachers, the misdirection of public opinion and the lack of institution vicissitude.At last, in order to solve the problem that Chinese school institution hampers the development of students'creativity, measures should be taken on three aspects, including the form of school institution, the ways to implement school institution and the mechanism to adjust school institution. In the first place, we should have reasonable understanding on school institution's value and functions and besides, students and parents should be allowed to participate in the course of school institution constitution. For each school institution, scope should be defined from the beginning. Secondly, we should be tolerant and agile during the executing course of school institution and take care of students and teachers' needs.Besides, the mechanism to adjust school institution should be established to redress the problem raised during the institution implementation course.In detail, the extent of school institution's emphasis on authority should be weakened, competition mechanism should be introduced and more choices should be left for students.
