Biological reef is a special kind of reservoir which generally has good property,high productivity, high recovery efficiency and low cost of exploration anddevelopment. It plays an important role in the carbonate reservoir of high production,and has great benefit and value of the development and the economics.Due to special experience in sedimentation and diagenetic process, biological reefis a special kind of carbonate sedimentary bodies which have uniquepaleogeomorphology characteristics and petrological characteristics. Biological reefusually has unique features in the seismic time section, such as uplift, drape, and raisedand concaved characteristics at the bottom of reef. All of the features above make iteasy for us to find the reef. But some special geological bodies can have the samecharacteristic, such as Igneous, salt dome, sand body, and ancient buried hills, which isa trap of biological reef recognition.Focusing on the upper Permian,changxing group of JG block in Sichuan basin andbasing on previous study results, the article sum up the reef reservoir petro-physicalcharacteristics and establish the mode of reef seismic identification and choose somesensitive seismic attributes of reservoir response by typical biological reef lithologyand litho-facies analysis, and seismic reflection analysis. All of these study determinegeophysical methods and technology series for reef reservoir predictionAccording to the basic studies, we solve the reef identification and reservoirprediction by using the technology of the reservoir prediction guided by seismic model,seismic facies, seismic attributes, spectral imaging technology, and the post/Preinversion technology. We finish the fracture prediction by azimuth anisotropic andstress field technology. We finish the liquid prediction by the technology of highfrequency attenuation and the elastic parameters. We form the method series to solve the marine carbonate problem, and solve the multiple solutions and the accuracyproblem of reef identification and reservoir prediction. Finally we reach the purpose ofthe prediction of the favorable reservoir in the biological reef.Based on the reservoir rock physical forward modeling, the technology ofreservoir prediction and hydrocarbon detection by seismic model are effectivetechnology series for the beginning of the exploration with few drilling wells. They canprovide a feasible technology of the reservoir and hydrocarbon prediction for the samegeology condition area. All the technology above has large application prospect.
