The metal particle-gas multiphase flow is a kind of typical flow. The disperse particle’skinetic characteristics is a very important problem. When the particle’s phase transforms togas or others which will lead to burning, there would be multitudinous condensed oxides. Inhigh temperature environment, some condensed phase would agglomerate to the particlesurface, and combine a new nonspherical particle. So there would be series changes of themetal particle’s kinetic characteristics which can make further influence to the entiremultiphase fluid.The main research goal is to analysis the nonspherical particle’s kenatic characteristicsand its influence to the multiphase fluid. First of all, considering the metal particle andmultiphase fluid’s characteristics, based on the mass and heat transfer laws, the controlequation of the multiphase flow was reasonably predigested. The unstable phase transferdetail process of nonspherical aluminum particle was studied. The growth process ofcondensed phase was analyzed. The proportion of the oxide smoke condensed to the particlesurface was computed. And the time-varying state of the metal particle was got. Thenumerical method was used to study the drag force of the nonshperical particle. Thedifference of the drag force between real particle and equality diameter particle werecompared. The influence of the coming fluid’s direction and turbulent intensity to particle’sdrag force were studied. The computations were performed with the CFD software Fluent6.3.The multiphase dynamic characteristics in the typical SRM and the hydro-reactive metal fuelmotor were studied. Metal particle’s burning efficiency and its influence to the multiphasefluid were analyzed. The computations were performed with the CFD software Star-cd3.26.The research results would give a better understanding of the metal particle’s dynamiccharacteristics. Also the investigation of the multiphase flow in typical SRM can be taken as areference for the grain design or the structure innovation.
