Based on the field geological investigation and the ductile channel hypothesis,Combined with GPS monitor result, seismic data, stratigraphy characteristics anddeep earth geophysical data, the author use sandbox experiment to modeling theuplifting mechanism and processes of the Eastern Tibet Plateau.The main results are listed as follow:1.Generally, the difference kinematics stle between micro-blocks, adjusting effect ofthe over-thrust and strike slip faults and the thickening of middle-lower crustal ductilechannel flow are the main factors of the crust uplifting in eastern margin of TibetanPlateau.2.As the sandbox model shows, while the extruded materials blocked by rigidbasement of Yantze Block, the material were separated and flow to north west andsouth respectively. The nearly straight faults turn curvature shape, and thrust-strike-slip faults were formed. Later, the deformations moved back step by step, andthe back thrust faults were formed in Yidun area. The experiment also shows that theupper crust fold and thickening is one of the main reasons for the uplifting of theeastern margin of Tibetan Plateau.3. The experiment also shows the crust thickening was occurred in Longmenshanarea firstly, and then the middle-lower crustal ductile channel flow thickening quickly,meanwhile, the uplifting action retreated from Longmenshan to Yidun arc belt.So the thickening of middle-lower crustal ductile channel flow is another importantfactor for the uplifting of the eastern margin of Tibetan Plateau.4.Finally, this paper gives out a new explanation for the uplifting mechanism andprocesses of the Eastern margin of Tibetan Plateau. And the author concluded that themain factor for the uplifting in the study area is the differentiation thickening of theupper relative rigid crust and middle-lower ductile curst.
