Data triangulation and iso-surface extraction are the important technology for visualization processing of3D data field. In this paper, the appearance and expression of geological phenomenon are taken as the object of study; those characteristics, describe methods and data acquisition methods of geological spatial objects are analyzed. By discussing the triangulation method of scattered data based on convex hull, the concept of the approximative convex hull and the approximative constrained convex hull are bring forward, and the triangulation method are discussed in detail. After analyse the two methods of body visualization and surface visualization, a simple comparison of body visualization and surface visualization from the aspects of algorithm and efficiency was done. The principles of classical MC method and the lacks of it in application aiming at scattered data fields been introduced; the iso-surface extraction method of constrained geological data based on triangulation was invesitigated. On the basis of borehole data for the experimental, an in-depth analysis and research of data pre-processing during iso-surface extraction processing and triangulation method and others technology were done. Finally, a new fast iso-surface extraction algorithm on the saddle point triangulation was proposed and an optimization iso-surface construction algorithm on MC method was improved.
