As technologies of the petroleum exploration and development and 3D seismic developed, proved reserves of the subtle reservoirs have been more than half of proved reserves of oil and gas in China. It has been turned from structural reservoirs to the lithological and stratigraphic subtle reservoirs. Geophysical technology and reservoir analysis are required strictly according to the difficulty in identifying subtle reservoirs, complexity in control factors and accumulation regularity. The vertical and plane resolution of the reservoir can be recognized by the reservoir geophysical technology which combined the seismic exploration technology with reservoir research technology. And it can be applied to research the subtle reservoirs in the middle to later stages of the development.Infilling wells and extension wells are required to make up the production decline in the subtle reservoirs which have been explored early and almost developed in the middle to later stage with high degree of reserve recovery and rapidly increasing of Sw.It’s the new field of seismic technologies to re-recognize the subtle reservoir which has been mined for several years and research the distribution of available remaining reserves. The reservoir geophysical technology which combined the seismic date with the static and dynamic reservoir data can ascertain the distribution of remaining oil, guide well deployment and increase oil production.Used reservoir geophysical technology to analyzed the static and dynamic characters, researching the relationship between the micro-faults, lithology, physical property, permeability, oil bearing character and increasing oil productivity of the Triassic oil field in the northwest margin of Junggar Basin, a reservoir geophysical method and technical process which synthesized the 3D seismic data and development data was put forward to study the distribution of available hydrocarbon remaining reservoirs.With the guidance of reservoir geophysical technology, the role of micro faults in grooming vertically the hydrocarbon and reformatting of the reservoir was predicted. favorable areas of alluvial fans in Baikouquan Formation and braided channels and distributary channels in the Upper Kelamayi Formation were proposed by using the forward modeling and seismic inversion technology and various seismic attributes. Some wells were proposed and after ascertaining the favorable facies belt, favorable reservoirs, oil bearing property and so forth.Reservoir geophysics technology was first applied to solve the problems in the middle to later stage of the subtle reservoirs development through introducing the injection-production data and oil well production data into the 3D seismic areas. The reservoir geophysics technology was put forward for the hydrocarbon reservoirs in the old fields and available remaining reserves evaluation of oil reservoir, which is significant to guide and refer to the sustainable development of similar subtle reservoirs old oilfield.
