The study area is located in the southeast margin of Yangtze block and the middle of western Hubei-northwestern Hunan-eastern Guizhou metallogenic belt. There is a excellent geological condition, and it hosts many lead-zinc deposits. Based on field geological investigation and indoor comprehensive analysis, the author summarized the Metallogenic Geological Characteristics and ore genesis for three typical deposits. The lead-zinc deposit in the study area may be divided into three styles: lead-zinc deposit of Dongjiahe type, lead-zinc deposit of Limei, and lead-zinc deposit of Jiangjiaya. There metallogenetic model and Prediction Model are established. Using GIS technology and by the means of characteristic analysis method and evidence weighting method, metallogenic prognosis was completed, and ore favorable prospecting target areas were outlined. The main achievements are listed as follows:1. The regional data of geology, mineral resource, geophysics, geochemistry, remote sensing and native heavy concentrate have been collected comprehensively to establish a unified vectorization basic geological database for geological quantitative research.2. After deeply studying geological features of ore deposit, geochemical characteristics, lithofacies paleogeography, ore-forming materials and Characteristics of ore-forming fluids, the paper summarized the ore genesis and metallogenic regularity for three types of lead-zinc deposit in northwestern Hunan.3. Based on the study of the typical deposits, the paper systematically summarized ore control factors and Regional Metallogenic Regularity, then established regional metallogenic model and Prediction Model.4. Using GIS technology and by the means of a combination of qualitative and quantitative analytical methods, multiple metallogenic information in the study area was extracted and comprehensive information ore prospecting model has been established.5. The combination method of characteristic analysis method and evidence weighting method has been performed for the metallogenetic prediction of lead-zinc deposits, and 10 ore favorable prospecting target areas were outlined, including 4 A type, 2 B type and 3 C type targets. The results provided reference and basis for exploration and deployment.6. This paper predicts the lead-zinc resource in northwestern Hunan with the volume method.
