| Manganese containing molecule clusters is is continuously attracting more and more attention. from a variety of research area, which includs bioinorganic chemistry and magnetic materials. In this paper, we use the molecular design ideas synthesized a serials of manganese containing molecules by introducing Schiff-base and polyoxoanion as multidentate donor ligands. Suitable synthetic methods, properties, the factors as well as rules in the synthesis processes for these new compounds have also been studied.Sixteen new maganese cotaining molecules have been synthesized via conventional aqueous or mixed solvent methods, and also structurally characterized by elemental analyses, IR, UV-Vis, TG-DTA, XRD, diffuse reflectance UV-Vis spectra, EPR, XPS and single crystal X-ray diffractions. The thermal stabilities and the stabilities in solutions, magnetic properties, electrochemical and electrocatalytic activities and electrochemical activities of these compounds have been investigated.1. Reaction of zerovalent copper powder, manganese(II) nitrates and multidentate Schiff-base ligands in hot methanol solution led to the isolation of two new MnⅢ-CuII heterometallic aggregates, 1 and 2. Compound 1 contains a centrosymmetric dicubane-like {Cu2Mn2} unit. The unit cell of compound 2 contains one cationic heterometallic cluster, a NO3- counter-anion and a solvent methanol molecule. The core of this cationic cluster of 2 exhibits a cubane-like {Cu3Mn} tetranuclear unit. The magnetic susceptibilities of 1 and 2 display the antiferromagnetic interactions in both compounds. [Mn2ⅢCu2Ⅱ(H2L)4]·(NO3)2·2CH3OH (1) [MnⅢCuII3(sae)4(MeOH)(H2O)3]·NO3·MeOH (2)2. The reaction of [Mn12(CH3COO)16(H2O)4O12]·2CH3COOH·4H2O, Na8[HPW9O34]·24H2O, K2HPO4 and ethylenediamine hydrochloride in aqueous solution leads to the isolation of a new polyoxometalate-based mixed-valent manganese aggregate, K14Na17[(MnⅢ13MnⅡO12(PO4)4 (PW9O34)4] 56H2O (3). To the best of our knowledge, compound 3 represents the currently largest manganese aggregates based on the inorganic POM ligands. Compound 4 is made up of two heptatungstophosphate [HPW7O28]8- moieties linked together by a single MnⅢion, forming a unique dimer with central symmetry . K14Na17[(MnⅢ13MnⅡO12(PO4)4(PW9O34)4]56H2O (3) K12Na2[(HPW7O28)2Mn]·16.5H2O (4)3. The introduction of {Mn2} type cationic moiety precursors into the Anderson polyoxometalate (POM) systems led to the isolation of 6 new {MnⅢ2}-POM super molecules magnetic investigation indicates that compound 5, 6, 9, 10 and 11 is a new type of POM based single-molecule magnets. compound 7 and 8 represent two examples of organic-inorganic composite supramolecular compounds based on Anderson polyanion and mononuclear metal-Schiff-based complexes. The combination of heteropolmolybdates and isopolyoxoanions and mononuclear metal-schiff-base (salen=N,N’-ethylene-bis(salicylideneiminate) complexes, four new organic-inorganic hybrid compounds have been successfully isolated. {Mn(salen))2(H2O))2[AlMo6(OH)6O18]}[arg]·16H)2O (1)2) {Mn(salen))2(H2O))2[CrMo6(OH)6O18]}[arg]·11H)2O (13) [NH4]{[Mn(salen)2(H)2O)]6[V6O18]}[NO3]·)27H)2O (14) [NH4]{[Mn(salen)2(H)2O)]6[Mo10O38] (15)... |
