As a thickener, guar gum is widely used in oil and gas exploration’s static rockbreaking technology-hydraulic fracturing. In this study, via the analysis on thestructure of guar gum and the state of guar particles in organic solvent, it concluded that,in an organic reaction liquid, most reactive hydroxyl groups curling in the guar gumpowder could not participate in the modification reaction, and therefore modifiedproducts of better performance can not be obtained. In order to overcome the problemof most active hydroxyl groups of guar gum not participating in the modificationreaction, the two innovative modified guar gum preparation method "gum brickmethod" and "fiber solution method", which are different from the traditional modifiedguar gum preparation method, were proposed in this study, where,"gum brick method"was successfully applied to prepare hydroxypropyl guar gum and low molecular weightguar gum, and "fiber solution method" was successfully applied to preparehydrophobically modified guar gum. By lots of experiments and instrument analysismethods, the products prepared by the new preparation methods possesse excellentperformances, and the "gum brick method" possesses high industrialization promotionalvalue. |
