The urban ecosystem is an important issue in present period because most world population habits in an urban area and it is a center of everything in the region, country and globe such as politics, economy, investment, market, education, transportation, culture, entertainment and recreation. Humans in an urban area do not need only built-up area and modern lifestyle, but they also need natural contact and ecosystem services. So, the urban development and the environmental conservation are conflicting issues in the urban area and ecosystem. The balances between both notions are important and hard tasks for governors and urban policy designers because they must balance two paradoxes and kingpins in a city. The objective of this study is establishing a theoretical model for analysis and understanding of urban political ecosystem and landscape ecosystem as called land urban political ecosystem model. It presents technique and concept for developing and applied urban political ecology that reflect change and balance between urban development and environmental conservation. This study selects Wuhan metropolitan area between2002and2011as a case study because this city has fast urban development and beautiful natural ecosystem. It tries to study on political ecological relationship between Wuhan urban wild changes (Wuhan landscape ecosystem) and urban development (public policy) in2002-2011.The research methodology in this study integrates many methods that are field observation, satellite data analysis, public policy analysis and inductive analysis. It is intently exploratory to understand complex relationship between public policy, urban wild area change, urban political ecosystem and urban landscape ecosystem. The field observation is the researcher survey and recognition because a researcher lives in Wuhan between2010and2015, so he can recognize some urban wild area changes, built-up area development and urban development at Wuhan. Moreover, the researcher analyzes Wuhan satellite images from Landsat7between2002and2011for analysis of urban wild area and built-up area changes in quality and quantity. This researcher uses institutional model of public policy analysis as public policy understanding and urban political ecosystem model creation. Besides, the viewpoint and understanding of Wuhan urban political ecosystem can be an innovation for this study because this case is simple phenomena in every city around world. The results from the study found that Wuhan urban development, built-up area or urban development between2002and2011has a negative externality with urban wild area because Wuhan developing indicators and built-up are increase but urban wild area are decrease. Besides, some satellite images and data show some urban wild areas in Wuhan metropolitan area have qualitative and quantitative changes. This research sketches Wuhan land resource metabolic pathway from land urban political ecosystem model and it make understanding about the relation between public policy, urban wild area change and Wuhan development. Moreover, this study presents Wuhan urban political relationship between land resource metabolism and urban wild area is land antagonism. So, all results shows that Wuhan development does not move on sustainable development because Wuhan government cannot balance between urban development and environmental conservation. It is not well-being and natural friendly and it can make problems to Wuhan creatures in the future. |
