Strip profile is not only a principal part of hot strip quality, but also an impotant sign for continous rolling stability. Therefore, a lot of labours and money have been put into use in domestic and overseas. At the same time, many results have been made. However, the problems that how to guarantee stability of strip profile quality and continous rolling in a maximum length of a rolling schedule with the same width and how to guarantee precision of shafting, bending and cross angle values given by SSU with least intervention still have a popular attention in universities, academes and manufactures. Normally central bucle is easly occur in a central and tail rolling schedule, because there are lots of thin and nallow specification. This problem is usually solved by reducing the length of a rolling schecdule. However, this measure results in adding grinding times of work roll, increase of roll consuming and decrease of output. This is also a popular problem in almost all manufactures. Therefore, technical level and hot strip product quality can get advance in manufactures. Original work roll and buckup roll shapes have been deep studied in finish mill based on combination of theoretical research and actual strip profile problems in1422mm hot strip mill. Original work roll and buckup roll shape curves adapted to feature of1422mm hot strip mill have been developed. Boundary conditions adapted to SSU get satisficed. Strip profile problem for cold-shaped material puzzled in a long time has been solved. The creative achievements are described as follows:1) The reasons for that the profile quality problem of products for cold rolling and setup problem of SSU have been theoretical analysed and industrial experimented.2) CVC work roll shape curves for F4-F6mill stands and the designing software have been developed and put into use in1422mm hot strip mill. Strip crown is too small for cold-shaped material has been solved successfully. New concept has been put forward. The last stand of the last three stands is the key stand.3) F1-F3CVC curve has been optimized successfully. The problems that strip profile for wide and thick specification are too large and for narrow and thin specification are too small have been solved.4) MHW variety contact backup roll shape curves with chamfer have been developed to improve effect of bending force.
