Among tin powder, dibutyltin diacetate (C4H9)2Sn(OOCCH3)2, dioctyltin diacetate (C8H17)2Sn(OOCCH3)2, dibutyltin oxide (C4H9)2SnO, dioctyltin oxide (CgH17)2SnO, diphenyltin oxide (C6H5)2SnO, dibutyltin chloride dihydroxide (C4H9)2Sn(OH)2Cl, butyltinhydroxide hydrate C4H9Sn(O)-OH-xH2O, Ni nanoparticles and Pd nanoparticles,1weight%of dibutyltin diacetate shows the maximum conversion. The methanolysis of sunflower oil, neem oil, rocket seed oil and linseed oil into methyl esters studied in the presence of1%dibutyltin diacetate as a catalyst and was compared their percentage conversions. Prepared biodiesel was chemically characterized by FT-IR, NMR (1H&13C) and GC-MS to elucidate the identification, quantification and chemical composition.In chapter5, a detailed critical analysis was conducted to highlight different related aspects such as seeds oil composition, production methods, properties of biodiesel, problems and potential solutions of using vegetable seed oil, the composition, quality factors and effective utilization of crude glycerol, the catalytic conversion of glycerol into possible fuels and chemicals, to biodiesel industry.In chapter6, the Ni-Sn nanoparticles with tunable composition having different particle sizes were prepared by facile method. The effect of tin content on the catalytic performance of Ni-Sn catalyst was studied. Furthermore, catalytic activity of Ni75-Sn25nanocatalyst for the reduction of a number of nitroarenes compounds under mild conditions was investigated.
