Objective:To sort out and study the syndrome and therapy essentials of bloody syndrome caused by liver-store-blood function disorder from ancient literatures, and provide theoretical basis for clinical treatment of bleeding diseases. Methods:The literature research methods was applied. Based on collation, analysis and research of ancient literatures about the functional disorder of liver storing blood, to explore the essentials of the theory, treatment, prescriptions and medicine choice.1. Literature date retrieval:Main source come from TCM books published before1911,including two parts. First, Chinese Medical Classics (fourth edition,2007), publ-ished by Hunan Electronic Audio and Video Publishing House. Second, according to the National union catalog of TCM books, to retrieve the books in the Library of C-hengdu University of Traditional Chinese Medicine and Sichuan Libraries.2. Classify and organize the literature source:Read and analyzed the retrieved documents, removal the repeated parts, and classify the theory, prescription, medicine, and treatment. Then discuss the syndrome and treatment essentials of bloody syndrome caused by liver-store-blood function disorder. Results:The literature of this article ultimately retrieved a total of2,130, including the theoretical classes1,961, and169medical cases.1.The theoretical classes can be divided into four categories. The first category is the literature related to the ancient physicians’understanding about the meaning of the Liver-storing-blood, about110. Among these,43the expression of the meaning of the Liver storage of blood,53expressed the meaning of the Liver regulate blood volume,14expressed the meaning of Liver restraint blood. The second category is to describe the relationship between the function of Liver-storing-blood and Spleen, Lung, Heart and Kidney, there are about214.132of them express the relationship between Liver and Spleen;20express the relationship between Lung and Liver;36express the relationship between Kidney and Liver;6expression of Heart and Liver. The third category discuss the diseases caused by the functional disorder of Liver-storing-blood, about1,533, mainly related to the8kinds of disease, they are bloody diseases,767, fascia disease,326,360eye diseases, amenorrhea27, abortion10, arthralgia syndrome10,25hypochondriac pain and dizziness8. The bloody type are mainly nine kinds, including syndrome of anger caused Liver heat,351, syndrome of the liver wind and fire,65, syndrome of Liver qi stagnation,203, syndrome of Liver blood deficiency,8, syndrome of Liver qi deficiency,15, syndrome of gold dryness multiply wood,7, syndrome of Liver and Kidney yin deficiency,93, syndrome of Liver, Spleen and Kidney yang deficiency,8, syndrome of excessive heart-fire7. The fourth category is other aspects of the application. Including, to explain the potency of87, to explain the four acupoints and interpretation of pulse13.2.The prescription and medicine literature involves about1,149formulas, about52basic formulas,93kinds of Chinese medicine. In the prescriptions, there are about257for reconcile,298for resolving heat,303for supplementing blood,10for regulating the flow of Qi,233for nourishing Yin,25for expelling wind,4for warming yang,19for both enriching QI and blood. Among these, the10most commonly used prescriptions are Shimotsu-to246, Liu Wei Di Di Huang Wan179, Xiaoyaosan148, Xijiaodihuang106,95Sho-saiko-to, Boye Tang31, Sishengwan,30,Liangxuedihuangtang,24,Huaihuasan,20, Siwuzeiguyiluruwan,18.In the medicine, there are4,222for resolving heat,2,720for invigorating qi,2,210for supplementing blood,1,644for nourishing yin,1,322for regulating qi,1,.39for promoting blood circulation,1,202for expelling wind,1,075for warming yang,703for expelling dampness,396for haemostasia and327astringents. The20most commonly used medicine are dried rehamnnia root946, Angelica899,895licorice, ginseng737,675donkey-hide gelatin, white peony root620, Tuckahoe606, moutan bark601,532rehmannia, coptis515, radix474,422of astragalus, skullcap405, dried ginger335, atractylodes330, nepeta314,bupleurum312, rhizome of sichuan lovage258,249walnuts, cattail pollen225.3. The theoretical research lead to the following results.(1) In accordance with the views of the ancient physicians, we suggest Liver constraint blood as a third meaning of Liver-storing-blood, which means the Liver has a function unifying blood to make it run without spillover the meridians. (2) Liver constraint blood is one of the Liver’s function, which demands Liver qi flows smoothly.(3) The difference between the bloody syndrome caused by functional disorder of Spleen wrapping blood and Liver storing blood is, the former is mainly deficiency syndrome, mostly caused by Spleen qi deficiency, the latter is more complicated, with some Liver-related symptoms.(4)The syndromes of Liver storing blood disorder are mainly divided into nine types, with more excess syndrome and less deficiency ones. The total number of the syndromes of anger caused Liver heat, Liver wind and fire and Liver qi stagnation are count569,otherwise the number of the syndromes of Liver qi deficiency, Liver blood deficiency and both Liver and Kidney yin deficiency count81. Therefore, the treatment use more medicine to cleaning heat and dispersing stagnated liver qi.(5)For the treatment of the bloody diseases caused by Liver-storing-blood disorder demands dispersing stagnated liver qi, enriching Liver, promoting blood circulation and giving consideration to Spleen and Stomach.Conclusion:1.Liver’s function contains Liver constraint blood.2. Clinically, the bloody diseases caused by Liver function disorder are very common, we should pay more attention.3. The bloody syndrome caused by functional disorder of Liver storing blood has its own regular pattern.
