The Summary Of Xuan Guowei’ Academic Experience And The Research Of Data Mining Of Liuweidihuang Tang

ObjectiveProfessor Xuan Guowei is a famous doctor of the province of guangdong ,called the second Chinese medicine master and a skin Lingnan master. After nearly 50 years of teaching, research and practice, Professor Xuan’s distinctive academic thouthts and rich clinical experience had been gradually formed. The purpose is to organize and summarize Professor Xuan’s thoughts and clinical experience systematically.Through literature research and data mining, to summarize his thought of Bushenfa and find its hidden laws from the process of treatment based on syndrome differentiation, then to provide learning experiences for the younger generation. It is conducive to further inherit and develop Professor Xuan’s thoughts and clinical experience,to provide an effective method for future large-scale study of diagnosis and therapy experience and thoughts of famous and old herbalist doctors.MethodsThe first, through learning with the teacher, ward rounds, discussing difficult cases, dispelling doubts and collecting Professor Xuan’s all academic works, then combined with clinical practice to summarize and analyze Professor Xuan’s thoughts and clinical experience. Meanwhile,I studied classical and insisted on clinic to make Professor Xuan’thoughts and clinical characteristics into my own clinical practice, and strived to combine theory and practice to constantly improve individual clinical level.The second, based on data mining, retrospectively analysis the clinical experience of professor Xuan using Liuweidihuang Tang to treat skin disease. Then we summarized Professor Xuan’s Bushenfa’s characteristics in clinical syndrome differentiation, further summed up the thoughts and clinical experience of Professor Xuan.ResultsThe paper summarized professor Xuan Guowei’s thought and clinical experience comprehensively and systematically, it included as follows:① we summarized Professor Xuan’s Bushenfa, specifically focused on its academic ideological origins and connotation, and use Bushenfa on the treatment of systemic lupus erythematosus, alopecia areata and acne;②we summarized Professor Xuan use Jiedufa to therapy psoriasis and cutaneous vasculitis; ③we summed up Professor Xuan’Qushifa which had features of the Lingnan region; ④ we summarized Professor Xuan use the method of black and white pair, flat regulation of yin and yang to treat vitiligo;④ we summarized Professor Xuan’s distinctive drug experience, such as ganoderma lucidum, pine needles, centella asiatica and etc. we also introduced drug pairs, including ephedra and oysters, cynanchum paniculatum and tree peony bark, houttuynia cordat and bai xianpi. ⑥we summed up Professor Xuan’s external therapy.Based on data mining, retrospectively analysis professor Xuan use Liuweidihuang tang to treat skin disease. The results showed that:①the main symptoms and pulses of Liuweidihuang tang were:hair loss, pale tongue, red tongue, thin fur, white fur, string pulse and thready pulse. ②Professor Xuan’s Liuweidihuang tang’s basic prescription was:rehmannia, cornus officinalis, yam, tree peony bark, poria, rhizoma alismatis, ganoderma capense, licorice, ③we divided the dosage of Liuweidihuang tang’s basic prescription into four groups by cluster analysis. The 1st group ranked first was small dose group, the main symptoms and pulses above 38.2%(including 38.2%)were hair loss, red tongue, thready pulse, string pulse, white fur, thin fur, pale tongue. Compared with the previous statistic of the main symptoms and pulses,the percentage of hair loss, string pulse, white fur, thin fur and pale tongue has increased, red tongue and string pulse has reduced. The 2nd group ranked second was large dose group, the main symptoms and pulses above 38.2%(including 38.2%) were red tongue, string pulse, thready pulse, hair loss, pale tongue, white fur, thin fur. Compared with the previous statistic, The percentage of hair loss and string pulse hasn’t increased significantly, while red tongue, thready pulse, pale tongue, white fur, thin fur has reduced. The largest amount of drugs of the first groups and the second groups was poria, it might be related to a lot of spleen deficiency physical in the Lingnan region. The mount of rhizoma alismatis and licorice in the 2nd group was lower in the 1st group, it might aim to prevent rhizoma alismatis lee water wet too much and licorice help to add humidity.The biggest difference between the amount of two groups was cornus officinalis,which was 15.7g in the first groups while the second groups almost little. In symptoms and pulses, compared with the previous statistics, hair loss in the 1st group increased significantly while was no significant increase in the 2nd group.④ in modified drugs, it contained 99 drugs, the total frequency was 1512 times, and the average number was 15.3 times. In modified drugs of 217 cases, it included 22 reinforcing drugs,the frequency was 454 times, ranked first. Among reinforcing drugs, the frequency of tonifying yin drug was 198 times, ranked first, and tonifying yang drug was 154 times, ranked second. Secondly, in modified drugs, it was 17 clearing-heat drugs, used 284 times, including dandelion has the highest frequency of use, up to 114 times. Followed by Pingganxifeng Drugs, diaphoretic drugs, dispel-wind drugs, promoting-circulation drugs, nhibiting-damp drugs, astringent drugs, sedative drugs, hemostatic drugs and so on.ConclusionIn this paper, we summarized Professor Xuan Guowei’s thought and clinical experience comprehensively and systematically. Professor Xuan stressed that "flatting yin and yang was the principle of treatment", creatively put forward the rule of treating skin diseases, such as Bushenfa, Jiedufa, Qushifa and so on. He accumulated a wealth of experience on skin disease, it was worth the younger generation to learn.Professor Xuan attached great importance to kidney and good at using Liuweidihuang Tang. The effect of Liuweidihuang Tang based on tonif ied kindney yin, but both yin and yang were important by modifying drugs, in order to reinforce yang from yin and reinforce yin from yang, then achieved the goal of tonifying both yin and yang. It reflected academic thought of Professor Xuan’s flat yin and yang.Professor Xuan’s Liuweidihuang tang’s basic prescription was: rehmannia, cornu officinalis, yam, tree peony bark, poria, rhizoma alismatis, ganoderma capense,licorice. It had effect on nourishing liver and kidney, and balance of Yin and Yang,which embodied professor Xuan Guowei’s though t of Bushenfa and balance of Yin and Yang. His experience was worth furth er excavation and clinical application.
