With the international contacts becoming more and more frequent, the development of our country and society puts forward higher requirements for the English ability of the college students. In the revised edition of Teaching Requirements in College English Courses in 2007, it is clearly pointed out that we should emphasize the cultivation of students’comprehensive ability in using English, especially the cultivation of listening and speaking, and thus to cultivate application type talents who can study independently.We have been employing the class teaching mode that emphasizes on reading neglecting the cultivation of the ability of listening and speaking. So when students have to communicate in English later in work and daily life, they usually feel embarrassed. In today’s rapid development of information technology, the further integration of information technology and English curriculum has become the core of the current college English teaching reform. It is a most significant problem with which we are confronted at present about how to construct the English teaching mode which is adapted to the qualities of the subject and the learning law, about how to promote the teaching renovation of listening and speaking, and about how to cultivate students’ability in English communication.The rapid development of mobile communication technology provides a new opportunity to the renovation of listening and speaking instructional mode of college English. Mobile communication technology enables students to learn at any time and any place, and mobile assisted language learning has incomparable predominant advantages in many aspects, such as extending learning time and space, enriching learning interaction, improving learning efficiency and so on.This paper proposed and demonstrated the subject of constructing a hybrid teaching model of listening and speaking with the help of the modern educational technology, in order to create a good environment for training students’ English listening and speaking abilities by constructing this hybrid teaching model. This article is divided into five chapters to raise the subject and carry out further demonstration.Chapter one is the introduction part in which literature review is given from three aspects focusing respectively on "College English Curriculum Requirements" enacted by the Ministry of Education, China’s current status of college English listening and speaking teaching and factors which affecting college students’listening and speaking abilities. Then based on the analysis of the first-hand data obtained from a questionnaire research of the sophomores from Changchun University, after concluding that the current college English listening and speaking teaching mode is not conducive to the cultivation of the students’listening and speaking abilities, this article raised the research objective of using the modern educational technology represented by mobile technology to build a hybrid listening and speaking teaching mode in order to create a good learning environment for students.The second chapter deals with the theoretical basis for English listening and speaking teaching. In this chapter the article discusses the second language acquisition theory and situation cognition and learning theory which have a major impact upon English listening and speaking teaching, elaborates the guiding role different theories play to the hybrid university English listening and speaking teaching with applications of mobile technology thus lays a sound theoretical foundation for the model construction.Chapter three focuses on mobile learning and mobile language learning research. On the basis of unique analysis of the definition of mobile learning and its connotation, this chapter discusses the components of the mobile learning system, its application mode and the key technologies. Then this article elaborates the superiority of language learning with the support of mobile technology and the way for implementation, puts forward the technology roadmap for constructing the model.Chapter four discusses the model construction of hybrid English listening and speaking teaching with a mobile technology support. With the guidance of blended learning, deep course and information technology integration and language meaning theory, this chapter constructs a hybrid English listening and speaking teaching model with a mobile technology support in five dimensions:the mixture of formal curricular learning in-class and extracurricular learning out-of-class; the mixture of lecture-style in-class teaching and self-learning; the mixture of teacher-led and student-oriented learning; the mixture of traditional media and new media during the learning process;the mixture of English language knowledge and English listening and speaking skills. This chapter carries out a detailed exposition on the implementation steps of teaching, formative assessment and cultivation of learning strategies. And it also has an in-depth analysis upon the teaching mode and model.Chapter five is about the implementations of the model experiment and its conclusions. Through the comparison experiments during the teaching practice, it shows that the mixed college English listening and speaking teaching model with mobile technology support has a significant effect in culturing the students’ listening and speaking abilities. After summaries and reflections, the author reflects further on the issue as how to develop the educational technology as a subject.As a whole, the creative points of the study are as following:Firstly, the dissertation creatively applies mobile technology to the study of the renovation of listening and speaking instruction in college English, and demonstrates the feasibility and superiority of mobile assisted English learning by combining the characters of mobile technology and mobile learning.Secondly, as the core achievement of the study, the dissertation creatively constructs a blended listening and speaking instructional mode in college English which is supported by mobile technology, and through the instruction practice demonstrates the effect of the model.Practice has proved that the blended listening and speaking instructional mode in college English which is assisted by the mobile technology can evidently promote students’listening and speaking ability. The mode has the strongest operability and practical significance.
