Yugoslav Praxis School is an indispensable part of the evolution of Marxism in the twentieth century, while Svetozar Stojanovi? is an important representative of Yugoslav Praxis School. In his socialist theory, Praxis philosophy is the basis of his theory, humanism is the essential prescript of his theory, and autonomy is a useful exploration to socialist reform. In addition to introduction and conclusion, the paper is divided into six chapters, contents of each chapter as follows: the first two chapters introduce the background of Svetozar Stojanovi?’s socialist theory and Basic views on Praxis philosophical. The third, fourth and fifth chapters cut from three different themes, overall interpreting his socialist theory.First of all, Svetozar Stojanovi? believes that Marxism is humanistic criticism theory rather than ideology. He uses Marx’s early writings as the basis and conducted comprehensive critique on the current situation of Yugoslavia ideology. He thinks debunking the newly established myths, fetishism, taboos and sacred tenets is the foundation towards humanitarian socialism.Secondly, Svetozar Stojanovi? criticizes the present social system of Yugoslavia. He argues that in Yugoslavia, many people seek own interests under the banner of autonomy, not only leads to the alienation of interpersonal relationships, but also causes alienation to the social autonomy itself. These organizations become the masters of the country. Svetozar Stojanovi? understands democracy as a process, namely, democracy relies on social autonomy while social autonomy is the realization form of democracy. Finally, he believes profound implication of ethics is contained in Marx’s theory, which is different from the traditional preaching of ethic. His ethics is not to urge individuals to improve themselves in moral level, but to analyze the reasons why inhuman social order arising, that is to say, the primary task of Marxist ethics is to wake up the working class to have a profound understanding of their own interests, and thus to make them consciously carry out revolutionary ethical actions. In view of such point, Svetozar Stojanovi?’s socialist theory is a revolutionary, practical ethics. In short, Svetozar Stojanovi? understands the“socialist”in the sense of verb. He considers socialism must be an open historical process, and only by doing so can socialism have significance. Socialism is constantly abandoning alienation and achieving social progress of human freedom and all-round development. Thus "people" will become the main body of socialist process. Only by gradually replacing the existing national political institutions with free people association and achieving true democracy, can socialist autonomy be realized.
