A Study On Je Tsongkhapa And His Lamrim Chenmo

The dissertation has examined the literature theory, cultural essence of Lamrim and its theoretical origin-Bodhicitta. Apart from introduction, the dissertation includes three chapters.The introduction of the dissertation has described the life of Je Tsongkhapa, the historical background of Lamrim Chenmo, its editions and the distribution of its editions.Chapter One has made a conclusion to Je Tsongkhapa’s the literature theory, Samadhi, and the literary skills, including the rhetoric skills and his poems. This part has emphasized his views and skills of literatureIn Chapter Two, the dissertation has found that Lamrim Chenmo tries to disclose the principles of adapting to self, to the society, to nature and to the afterworld, on the basis of the cognition of self, of the society and of the universe. That is "adaption culture", from which an aesthetic-oriented culture is developed. The aesthetic-oriented culture promotes the pupils’path from the development of Bodhicitta finally to Buddhahood. It is known for its methodology of selecting the essence, discarding the dross and learning lessons from history, to adapt to the modern time.Chapter Three has briefly summarized the theoretical basis of Lamrim Chenmo Bodhicitta, and attempts to clarify the views, of Buddhism theories, the origin and the development of Buddhism, and the reason for the deep expression that Buddhism has left people.In the conclusion of the dissertation, a conclusion has been made to the status-quo of relevant studies, and the positive influence of Buddhism and its study direction in the future.
