For parody, it is translated as imitate or simulate in Chinese, and more importantly it is the most ambiguous and vague concept in all the concepts in the western literature theory. From ancient to modern times, there are researches as vast as the ocean in the history of the western literature theory. As the beginning of the Greece time, parody has linked with imitation which is thought as the start of literature. Plato has thought that art and literature are the imitations about truth. That means literature is the subsidiary of truth. After Plato, his student Aristotle has thought that art and literature are the imitations of reality. Further Aristotle has invented the concept which is parody. He has thought that parody is the comical imitation of literature work. And this concept is the original definition of parody. After this, the definition of parody has developed because western literature theory has developed. So many scholars have their definitions of parody. In the process of the development of parody, the concept has changed into another side which is that parody is the non-comical imitation of literature work. This means that there is a current which the thinking that parody is the non-comical imitation has replaced this thinking that parody is the comical imitation. In the process, both the two definitions are phases concepts of parody. And they are characters of parody which is in literature theory and creations of work. So there is no question about which one is better and which is fitted. Also we do not need to insist one and reject another one. They are both completing it as an entirety. Some scholars are from their points of view and persisting in their definitions. For them, this is reasonable. However, the concept of parody is not one definition and one thinking of one scholar. It is also not significance when we think that parody is both comical and non-comical imitation. Why not we put this process of defining of parody in a question? In this process, we can imagine that how we have this definition and what theory and philosophical thinking behind it. The most important is why can this turning which the comical definition of parody change into the non-comical definition happen. Also we need to explain this significant turning. In the process of definition of parody, we can see that literature theory and philosophical thinking are the resources of the development of parody. All these theories and thinkings are created by scholars, some are against each other. Meanwhile the concept of parody are fused with other literature concepts. Hence there is a need to discuss these fusions and distinctions. All these phenomenons have happened in literature critics and creations. It is very necessary that we are clear about these distinctions and contrasts if we want to know parody comprehensively. In literature works especially in elegant literature, we need to expound why comical parody has changed into non-comical parody. It is a paradox that when modernism and postmodernism literature have existed, the non-comical parody has replaced comical parody. Somehow in popular culture and literature, parody is the most significant meas to create works. The main way of thought of this paper is that in the introduction we must clear up all researches and articles both in western world and in China. In a summary about researches actuality, I should start a new research origin. First in my chapter one, I have to describe the process of development of definition of parody in the history of western literature theory. Second I could give an explanation about that in western philosophy the critic of identity and metaphysics has created the philosophical thinking of difference so we can imagine which comical parody theory is as a kind of metaphysics. As non-comical parody theory is a kind of difference philosophy, this theory is about literature emotion and aesthetic characteristics. For comical parody literature, it is about singleness in all these elements which are content form and the acceptions of readers. The only one measure and purpose is laughing. If readers are laughing when they read comical parody works, it means that comical parody is successful. Which also means non-comical parody is different kinds creations and works, further it brings different kinds of reactions about readers. In all this just a philosophical explanation. Third I would introduce and analyze non-comical parody theory. Non-comical parody has an complex attitude which are neutral or critical or subversion imitation about other works. It has many dimensions which includes philosophy politic and culture. Last it should discuss the transverse distinctions between parody with burlesque irony satire and pastiche. In chapter two, I shall probe into western elegant literature and find out that from old Greece time to The middle ages, comical parody is just burlesque. There is no intention in comical parody literature works when it comes after it has affirm and negative purpose. Since Cervantes, comical parody has fused with irony and satire. Obviously comical parody has accusations which it must have clear distinctions between them. Without doubt, that is the unique characteristic about comical parody. In chapter three, I am about to discuss in elegant literature the characteristics and history of non-comical parody. Even it is clear non-comical parody has developed in western literature, but it is only clear in western postmodernism literature.I would rather probe in the non-comical parody of Chinese literature. In ancient modern and contemporary time of Chinese literature, the characteristics are different. Instead we can describe a history clue about non-comical parody. It is obvious that the developments of non-comical parody are corresponding with the history characteristics of Chinese literature. And no doubt this is a blank space of researches in non-comical parody. In chapter four, comical parody has reborn and returned in popular literature. As well known that popular culture has produced pleasure which has included the sense of comic. The main way of production in network literature and cellphone text literature are comical parody. No matter what this kind of parody produces,it does not have ideological sense. Some scholars such as Dongfeng Tao has accused that parody has created a sense of cynicism. However in my opinion, there is no sense of cynicism and democracy in comical parody in popular culture. In the conclusion,I would like to discuss the relationship about parody and genius creation. Some scholars would prefer genius creation best not like parody. In fact genius of art and literature first start their creations in learning and imitating which means that parody is a way of practicing and studying. Further more from parody, classical literature work can also be created. The most important thing should be alert for us is mat literature has become a parody work of movie. This could be the end.
