Social adaptation is a part of socialization research. The social adaptation of Chinese female students in D university in USA was taken as an example in this article. Social adaptation state, social adaptation process and social adaptation level were investigated in these female students. The author analyzes the influence factors of social adaptation and the social support to these students in D university by involving herself in the observation and doing interview with the study objects, subsequent advices on how to develop and improve the state of social adaptation in D university are presented. In details, this article is divided into seven chapters:ChapterⅠis the introduction. It is about the research primary, the research proposes and the research conceives.ChapterⅡis the summary of relative research. After reviewing the main theories of social adaptation and social support, the author summaries all the social adaptation research into following parts:the social adaptation and social support of adolescents, the social adaptation and social support of women, the social adaptation and social support of student and the social adaptation and social support of immigration. ChapterⅢis about the review of relative research method and the detailed analysis of the research method of the thesis. The author gives a detailed interdiction of how to gather the data, how to do interview and how to sort the data and make use of them. Since there is not enough time to do long time research and also because of the lacking of research experience, there is still something needs to do further research.ChapterⅤis the systematically introduce of female students’ social adaptation in D university. This chapter can be divided into three parts:study adaptation, living adaptation and psychological adaptation. Study adaptation network node, study adaptation method and study un-adaptation are used as the main factor to measure study adaptation level. Language adaptation, identity adaptation, social participation and leisure arrangement are used as the measure factors of living adaptation. By doing systemic summary of research samples, the author gives the characteristics of psychological adaptation of female student in D university. ChapterⅥis the analysis of source, forms and content of social support to the Chinese female student in D university. Comparing with social adaptation analysis, the author investigates on the social support of study adaptation, living adaptation and psychology adaptation. Some of the social supports to study adaptation come formal organizations and some of them are from informal originations and the students’ families, and also the students can give some supports themselves. The effectiveness of the social support to study adaptation varies from students of different characters, different subject, and the time they spent in the US and how long they plan to stay here. When it comes to living adaptation, social support to language learning has wide variety of sources and good results. Identify support category is simply and the effect difference from living situation and personal social network. Local Chinese organizs, international house in the university, church and another informal organization is the main subject to leisure support. In psychological adaptation social support, the psychological support to identity adaptation is in bad level. When the students are feeling down, they often need to do some shopping or talk with others, take part in the church and take part in some social activity of international student hold by international house to make them feel better.Chapter VI is on the living adaptation strategy of abroad studying. In the aspect of developing study adaptation level, the author suggests to start by developing the ability of using language, accumulating professional knowledge and improving study habit. On how to develop the living adaptation level, the author gives suggestion on language adaptation, identity adaptation, and adaptation of social participation and campus participation. On how to develop mental adaptation level, the author suggests an objective evaluation by the students themselves. To be more tolerant to themselves, sincerely and warmly expressing their requirement for help whenever necessary are also kind of important.ChapterⅦis the conclusion and discussion; the author concluded her study, put forward problems for further discussion and the assumption of studying these problems.
