Land use change is an important constituent of the global change. It has already become a hot spot of present research on global change. Land use is the foundation of the human life. Land is the foundation of all kinds of activities of the human being. Without the materials and space provided by the land, people can do nothing. Since the20th century, the human being have intervened more and more to the land system. With the growing of mankind’s development and material desire, the human being have asked too much from the land. Thereafter, man-land relationship has become a big contradiction. For the safe of mankind’s own sustainable development, they should use land reasonably and scientifically. In order to use land sustainably, people should firstly study the history of land use change in terms of number and space. And then conclude the characteristics and law of the research area and the global land use change. With the help of the land use change model, we can simulate the future change of land use in terms of number and space so that we can make scientific decisions.In Chapter1, the author firstly introduces some concepts concerning land use and land use change. Secondly, the author explains the background and meanings of the paper. After making a study on the progress of both abroad and domestic land use change research, the author puts forward his own study contents and technical path.In Chapter2, the author firstly introduces some theories and methods that have been used in the study of land use change at present. Then the author puts forward that the sustainable development theory, the man-land relationship harmony theory, the hierarchy theory of land use change, the land location theory and the landscape ecology theory be used as the theoretical evidence of this research. In this paper, the author uses CA as the simulated method based on different situations.In Chapter3, the author mainly studies the time and spatial change of the land use of Wuhu City from the year1996to2009. With the data of the land use condition of the year1996,2005and2009, the author makes an analysis from the angle of land use structural change, land use dynamic degree change, the stability of land use and land use spatial pattern. The author finds out that the major direction of the land type conversion of Wuhu City has been farmland changing into construction land, waters changing into farmland and construction land changing into farmland. The land use dynamic degree of unused land has been the utmost, then the construction land. During the research period, the comprehensive degree of Wuhu City land use is under evolution period, the least stable land type being the waters. By orderliness research, the author finds out that the complex degree of Wuhu City land use has grown, while the orderliness of land use has decreased. Through the study on the land use pattern of the research area, the author finds out that the landscape naturalness has increased, while the landscape fragmentation has intensified.The major content of Chapter4is the simulation of land use spatial change. The author firstly discusses the impact of neighborhood configuration based on land use spatial change on simulated results. Secondly the author discusses the differences between traditional VecGCA and VecGCA based on dynamic neighborhood. Then the author constructs the model of the land use spatial change of the research area, which includes the target layer, the limiting layer and the situational setup layer. And then the author simulates the spatial change of Wuhu City land use of the year2020.In Chapter5, the author studies the simulated results of Chapter4from the angle of ecological response. The author makes a comparative analysis among the6situations under the two kinds of development patterns of Chapter4from two aspects: the land ecological risk with the help of ecological risk index and the land ecological system service value based on distance. Then the author proposes the future land use pattern of the research area and countermeasures.In Chapter6, the author summarizes the major study results of the paper, and discusses some of the shortages of this paper as well as those that need future improvement.
