Similarities And Differences Between Chinese And Thai Interrogative Sentences And Strategies For Teaching Chinese Interrogative Sentences

There are difference of grammar structure and communicative functions of the sentences each language.Therefore the students who study for the second language have some problems and obstacles to develop themselves and learn Chinese language unskillfully.Moreover they probably have some effects on applying the second language for long-term.Interrogative is important sentence form and it is used very often for many Thai students to use it for daily conversation in Chinese language.However it is not big problem because the interlocutors had better anticipate understanding the simple and uncomplicated conversation.On the other hand,if the foreign students asked extensive or long interrogative correctly according to Chinese grammar it would be difficult for them.This dissertation was used by comparative analysis to study the difference and similarity points between Thai and Chinese interrogative.And questionnaires was used to research Chinese interrogative usage of Thai students then summed up the research findings to be statistics data and it was also used for language errors analysis to study the determinants for incorrectly interrogative of Thai students and classify all kinds of them according to reasons of usage.This dissertation was composed of nine chapters as follows;Chapter one to introduce purpose scope and the methods that used for research consist of sources of data.Chapter two to research about the analysis background between Chinese and Thai interrogative and studying the information,this involved comparative research Thai-Chinese interrogative sentences.Moreover in this chapter also introduce the categories of Thai-Chinese interrogative.By means of Chinese interrogative sentence was classified to be 4 types;Yes-No Question,Wh-questions,Alternative Question and Positive-Negative Questions.But in Thai language there are only 3 types;Yes-No Question,WH-questions and Alternative Question.Chapter three to study the Positive-Negative Questions between Thai and Chinese and compared the way to ask the question,sentence structure and answer.In addition there were the differences word pronunciation between Chinese and Thai interrogative such as "Ma ?"(Chinese)and "Mai(?)" and"Ru(?):(?)"(Thai),and to consider sentence form of Question Tag which has these word to mainly using in speech.Chapter four to explain and compare the way to use WH-questions between Thai and Chinese which referred to 9 ways to make question:personal,things or sources,particular,time,condition,amount,level,cause and purpose.Then explain the interrogative sentences both of the expression and expressionless.Chapter five to study and do comparative analysis about alternative question between Thai and Chinese.So there are 3 parts of this chapter.1).To explain on conjunction word "Haishi ??"(Chinese)and "Ru(?):(?)"(Thai).2).To compare the Alternative Question between Thai and Chinese.3).To compare the way to abstain the similar word in alternative question between Thai and Chinese.Chapter six was explained to Thai interrogative form of negative questions "X not X" and the sentence form of special alternative "X not X".So that the similar question sentences were compared and analyzed.Chapter seven,the main point of this chapter was studied on questionableness level and speech form that used for communication.Because of there were a lot of researches and results that able to be definite of the interrogative for each level.However there was no any in Thai language.So that,the book named???????????(Interrogative Chinese Research)a book of Mr.Shao Jing Min,was referred importantly in this dissertation to apply for comparative analysis in Thai questionableness level.In addition this chapter also explains the intention of indirect speech interrogative usage for Chinese communication.Chapter eight explained to the questionnaires which used for survey Thai students.Then took the conclusion from them to classify to be 4 types as follows;incorrect word arrangement,wrong word usage,unnecessary word usage and word loss.Moreover this chapter showed the analysis result of the point which was very difficult for teaching and studying Chinese Language.And this chapter has the cause of wrong interrogative sentence usage of Thai students.So there are some useful suggestions and guidelines for the difficult point that may be complicated in Chinese education.Chapter nine is the conclusion and proposes for imperfectly part of this dissertation.And there are some useful suggestions to be guidelines for research and studying in the future.
