| Bibliotherapy was first proposed by Galt in 1848 at the annual meeting of th e American Psychiatric. From 1916 on, it has being used in the treatment of anxiet y disorders, aggressive behaviors, phobia problems, etc. Its unique therapeutic effect is mainly due to the following theoretical foundation and characteristics. It is theor etically based on the three-mechanism theory put forward by psychoanalysis, includi ng identity, purity and realization. Its characteristics include: fitting children’s physic al and mental development level, being targeted to unique symptoms of depression children, helping children discover and express themselves better, and being safe an d cost-effective. Due to the prevalence of depression in children, the less-than-ideal therapeutic effect of existing treatment and the proved effect of bibliotherapy in th e psychological treatment on children, I propose the idea of applying bibliotherapy in the treatment of children depression. In order to verify bibliotherapy in the treatment of children depression and co mpare its effect with cognitive therapy, I selected 36 depression children aged 10 t o 15 as experimental subject. The children were divided into three groups randomly, namely, reading treatment group, cognitive therapy group and the control treatment group. The control treatment group participants didn’t receive psychological treatme nt until I had finished treatment on experimental groups. All subjects underwent tra cking test three months later. The testing results show that both bibliotherapy group and cognitive therapy gr oup decreased significantly in the parameters of depression evaluation indicators and deterioration symptoms degree, while control group changed little or decreased slig htly. Also, stable therapeutic effect was found. The bibliotherapy group got the low est score in the tracing test, which illustrated that the therapeutic effect of bibliothe rapy group was more obvious and more stable than cognitive therapy. From the ex periment, I find that bibliotherapy has good effect and feasibility on the treatment o f children depression. To further verify the effect of bibliotherapy and analyze its mechanisms in dep th, we also conducted a series of qualitative research. 16 patients who had complet ed the verification experiment of bibliotherapy were selected as samples. I collected a variety of research data by recording, observation and interviews and employ cat egory analysis analyze the qualitative data. Through open coding, axial coding and core coding,I construct three core categories which affect the therapy effect, includ ing therapist, treatment process and reading material. Based on the results of qualita tive research,I find that the suitability of children’s reading material, the attitude a nd professionalism of therapists, and mechanisms of identification, purification and c omprehend work together for a good therapeutic effect. In conclusion, bibliotherapy has certain advantages in the treatment of children depression, which has a relatively stable therapeutic effect and is relatively appro priate to the child’s developmental level. As an effective way to treat children depr ession, bibliotherapy should be promoted in the future. |
