The mineral resource base is the main carrier of mining economy. It can coordinate the centralized exploration and development of mineral resources, ensure the efficient production and utilization of mineral raw materials and promote the concentration of downstream industries,so as to ensure the safe supply of national mineral resources. However, the mineral resource bases in our country have names but no boundaries, which leads to the lack of consideration of its spatial location when delimiting the ecological protection red lines. This not only compresses the scope of mining activities, but also is not conducive to management of mining administration and delimitation of the "Three Districts and Three Lines".Therefore,it is urgent to carry out research on the demarcation and comprehensive evaluation of mineral resource bases, and clarify the boundaries of these bases. This can provide scientific basis for the mineral resource base to be brought into the spatial planning of "Multiple Plans Integration",so as to achieve a win-win situation of resource development and environmental protection. The demarcation and comprehensive evaluation of mineral resource bases is a new research field, which has important theoretical and practical significance.Based on the theories of location, safety of mineral resources, sustainable development, etc.,this paper has carried out in-depth research on the demarcation and comprehensive evaluation. The main contents and achievements obtained in this paper are as follows:1.The connotation and classification of mineral resource base have been defined in this paper. Then, the principles, basis and methods of the base demarcation have been clarified, and the theoretical framework of demarcation has been established.2.An indicator system for demarcation and comprehensive evaluation of mineral resource bases has been framed from three aspects of geological resources, technical economy and ecological environment.Seven indicators for demarcation and fifteen second-level indicators for comprehensive evaluation have been proposed in this paper.3.This paper establishes a mineral resource base demarcation hierarchy in three levels, and then proposes our country mineral resource base demarcation and comprehensive evaluation scheme.4.Taking the non-ferrous metal resource base in the middle-southern Greater Khingan Range as an example to carry out empirical research.Based on the ?mineralization belt of Sn-Cu-Pb-Zn-Ag-Au-Nb-Ta deposits in the Greater Khingan Range, regional faults, metallogenic regularity, and deposit distribution in the research area are analyzed, and then the boundary is preliminarily demarcated.According to the systematic analysis of the demarcation index,GIS kernel density estimation and spatial overlay methods are used to determine the mineral resource intensive area. Then, the boundary of the base is modified by combining the fault structures and geochemical anomaly. The boundary of the base is finally demarcated by the natural protected areas and ecological functional areas. The fuzzy comprehensive evaluation method is applied to evaluate the demarcated base.Combined with the actual situation,it is considered that the demarcation of the base boundary is reasonable. Finally, differential management suggestions are proposed to provide scientific basis for the formulation of differentiated management policies.
