Autism spectrum disorder(ASD)is a type of neurodevelopmental disorder.Children with ASD exhibit qualitative disorders that limit their ability to interact socially and to communicate. These children also exhibit limited repetitive and stereotyped behaviors, activities, and interests. These traits often affect their performance in daily life.It is difficult to understand how children with ASD develop and adapt to their circumstances,as their prognosis is often difficult to predict.ASD causes mothers to feel a sense of uncertainty and to experience long-term negative emotions, such as depression, anxiety, and stress. These in turn affect the quality of care mothers provide for their children, the mothers’ physical and mental health, and the stability of the family. As a result, parents of children with autism experience a poorer quality of life compared with parents with normal children,in general,or parents with children with other disabilities. The literature and statistical analysis of existing data show that parents’ feelings-good or bad-are molded by their own cognitive responses to different events and by their children’s ASD symptoms and disease severity. The present study is guided by the theory of cognition and emotion.According to the theory of "construction, present situation investigation, mechanism analysis, the intervention practice" research route, from the "stress" and "uncertainty" and "parenting stress," "sad" different perspectives, such as comprehensive literature analysis, questionnaire investigation, the intervention experiment, group guidance and case consulting, construct the autism mother bad mood psychological intervention operation pattern, parents’ present situation investigation. To determine the nature of and to what extent parents experience bad moods and to determine how these moods change,in this thesis,I explored various factors that contribute to depression and anxiety.I also assesed various methods to improve parents’ mood, such as maternal psychological group counseling and case counseling for children with ASD.The aims of this thesis research are summarized below along with the main conclusions.(1)Aim 1.The first aim of this thesis was to investigate and analyze depression, anxiety, and pressure and uncertainty of parents with autistic children of different ages. These children had visited outpatient clinics, had received training from special education institutions, and had attended special education schools.Another aim was to determine the different cauGSES of negative emotions and stress and to construct a psychological group intervention model using different dimensions. Conclusion 1.Our statistical analyze revealed that mothers’ depression and anxiety were positively correlated with the severity of their children’s autistic symptoms, monthly income of 3,001-5,000 yuan, having a young autistic child(7 ~ 12 years old),inconsistent parenting style, marital disharmony, pressure from their own parents, and bad mood. The mothers’ negative emotions influenced the way they interacted with their children, which in turn affected the severity of their children’s autistic symptoms.(2)Aim 2.The second aim of this thesis was to construct a model for semi-structured psychological group interventions for mothers of children with ASD.To achieve this aim,we designed an intervention path and plan to address different things that can cause depression, anxiety, and stress.Next,we conducted experimental research to explore the impact of stress, uncertainty, and parental pressure on mothers. The relationship between objective physiological indicators, such as blood pressure, heart rate, and negative emotions was determined during this experiment. Conclusion 2.One’s emotions can change through implicit attitudes changes.Physiological parameters, such as blood pressure, heart rate, reflect those changes.(3)Aim 3.The third aim of this thesis was to study the effect of an individual’s implicit cognition on negative emotions. In this context, then,we sought to identify when ASD occurs, its pattern of development over time, and its prognosis. We also accessed how training affects ASD presentation, and how this may reduce the negative effects of uncertainty and stress have on mothers. The outcomes of experiments addressing these aims guided adjustments we made to the intervention.(4)Through parent-child play therapy, mothers of autistic children can reduce their depression and anxiety,as well as their problem behaviors.Summary.This thesis explores various methods on how to carry out psychological group counseling and clinical case counseling for mothers of children with ASD,with the goal of reducing mothers’ depression and anxiety, and improving their self-efficacy and training skills. This research demonstrated that mothers’ negative emotions can be significantly reduced through semi-structured psychological group counseling and case counseling. |
