Li Jieren And Modern Chinese Literature

Although Li Jieren didn’t create many works in his life,and there is controversy on his works’ influence and value in academic circle,some concepts and problems narrated in the modern literature history cannot do without Li Jieren.This paper discusses the topic according to the following aspects:the diachronic development of Chinese modern literature,the evolution of Li Jieren’s literary creation,some important concepts and problems in the development of modern literature works and also some relevant writers’works.In the first chapter,explores the relationship between the "old" aspects in Li Jieren’s creation and the traditional origin of the modern literature.I investigate and analyze Li Jieren’s early literary creation by the development of modern literary origin.Moreover,on the basis of the literary thought,the "human literature" and the pursuit of modernity,I discuss how the "old" factors of the tradition origin influence Li Jieren’s creation and the modern literature’s development.In the second chapter,the development of the "old" to "new" in modern literature is mainly dependent on translation of foreign literature and modern literary trends.Hence,this paper discusses the "new" part of Li Jieren’s literary creation by the modern literature ideological trend.Through the description of naturalism,"the river novel" and the "epic"character of modern literature,this paper presents the "old" to "new" process of Li Jieren’s works and modern literature.In Chapter three,the "new" parts of modern literature ideological trend constructs a new look of modern novel on its content and form.Therefore,this chapter explores the historical narrative’s contribution to the development of modern historical novel by the real and imaginary,fictional characters in the narrative function and presentation in Li Jieren’s historical narrative creation.In Chapter four,the transformation of "new" and "old" is following with the times change.Similarly,the rewrite of Li Jieren’s works and the modern literature is affected by the "new" literature ideological trend after the founding of the nation.Realizing the content and the deep factors of rewriting is significant to the comprehensive evaluation of Li jieren’s literary creation and modern literature creation.In Chapter five,To discuss the uniqueness and value of Li Jieren’s works,this paper studies contemporary writers’ activities especially the "left" and "left-behind" of contemporary writers in Bashu,and the edge position of Yong Chinese Organization in modern literature.Furthermore,this paper describes Li Jieren creation’s profit and loss according to the modern literature.The theme of this paper is describing the deficiencies,achievements,influence and value of Li Jieren’s work.To discuss comprehensively,I study the relationship among Li Jieren and the traditional origin of the modern literature,modern literary ideological trend,history narrative and rewriting works.
