| This dissertation is on the vocabulary of the Chinese social documents of Song dynasty from Heishui city,which are important documents unearthed besides inscriptions on bones or tortoise shells of the Shang Dynasty,bamboo and wooden slips and Dunhuang-Turfan manuscripts.There are some reasons for chosen this topic.For example,the author could assign an exact date to these documents,the content on these documents is very rich,the language of these documents is colloquial,etc.In a word,the Chinese social documents of Song dynasty from Heishui city are important classics of modern Chinese literature and has a significant value of the corpus.In this dissertation,the introduction part introduces the discovery and collection of Heishui city manuscripts as well as editing and publishing of these documents,and then defined the concept of Chinese social documents of Song dynasty from Heishui city.On the foundation of research,the author figured out its quantity and category.The main part of dissertation consists of six chapters.From document collection and collation and language dictionary compilation and revision,Chapter one highlights research value of vocabularies in unearthed Chinese language social documents of Song dynasty from Heishui City.With a selected corpus sample,Chapter two systematically analyzes lexical constitution in the unearthed documents both in synchronic and diachronic way.By quantitative research method,the vocabularies of the unearthed documents from Heishui City are divided into four stocks including basic vocabularies,common vocabularies,local vocabularies,and rare vocabularies.The research figures out that the quantity of vocabularies in basic stock constitutes a largest proportion in the whole vocabulary system.The quantities of vocabularies in common,local,and rare stock demonstrate a gradually decreasing trend.This research finding is a true reflection of Chinese language vocabularies in Song dynasty.Chapter three traces new vocabulary to its source in the unearthed documents by three variables in the emergence of new things,the influence of religious cultures,and the dissemination of foreign cultures,and also carries out a specialized analysis on the structure of these new vocabularies.Chapter four analyzes vocabulary in government documents and law from the unearthed documents of Heishui City by using domain linguistics research approaches and related theories in conceptual field.On the one hand,the analysis reveals specific meanings of these vocabularies in extensive fields,and on the other,it does a preliminary study on a system of some lexical meanings.From perspectives of study and exploration,Chapter five makes a textual study and interpretation on 77 missed or ambiguous words from The Great Chinese Dictionary,Dictionary of Modern Chinese and Dictionary of words in Song Dynasty using exegetical methods.In the final part of the dissertation,the author introduced prospect of study of vocabulary of the Chinese social documents from Heishui city. |
