This paper takes the Confucian class of Sikuquanshuzongmu((《四库全书总目》)as the object of study, and from the perspective of the study of bibliography and academic history, through the research methods such as bibliography and comparative analysis, which indicates the whole situation of the recording and arrangement in the confucian category of Sikuquanshuzongmu, the relationship between the Confucian class and the Four parts(Jing Shi Zi Ji),and the value and significance of the Confucian class in the study of the history of academic thought. In terms of the study of the Confucian class books, the recording of the pre-Neo-Confucianism books is characterized by the priority to the ancient book, the ancient annotation and the transformation of Confucianism. The recording of the Neo-Confucianism books is characterized by the respect of Cheng Zhu’s Neo-Confucianism and the suppression of Lu Wang’s Neo-Confucianism.The universal rule of the arrangement of the more than four hundred Confucian class books is chronological arrangement. In addition, there are threes special cases of arrangement:The imperial books are arranged in the front of the books of the whole dynasty. The pseudo-books are arranged by the time of the person who is forged. The books with no writer’s name are listed at the end of the books of the whole dynasty."Confucian class" is a stable concept of the directory classification, but the types of its collection had increased or decreased in history, which is related to the change of the ideas of the bibliographer and the change of the status of the books."Confucian literature" is a concept which is defined from the angle of academic and ideological, with a broad sense and a narrow sense. From the perspective of broad sense Confucian literature,Sikuquanshu(《四库全书》)is provided with the characteristic of "Confucian Collection",which is able to assume its responsibilities. The concept of Confucian literature is far greater than the Confucian class. In terms of the study of relationship between the Confucian class and Four parts,Confucian class is the most closely related to Jing part. The books in Jing part all belong to Confucian literature.“Liujing "(六经)is the most central part in Jing part.Confucius established the system of Confucianism theory through the Confucianization of "Liuyi "(六艺).Confucian scholars after Confucius respected" Liuyi " as " Liujing ",which made“Liuyi”become the Confucian classics, and further the national classics. The Book of Filial Piety(《孝经》)and The Four Books(《四书》)are books which reflect Confucianism thought. The Book of Filial Piety and the Confucius Analects(《论语》)are Confucianism books,Not classic books, whose classic status is gradually established after the Han Dynasty. The Great Learning《大学》)and the Dctrine of the Mean(《中庸》)are single articles in the Book of Rites(《礼记》),The Works of Mencius(《孟子》)was listed in the Confucian class before Song Dynasty. These three books aren’t tied together with the Confucius Analects and listed in Jing part until Zhu Xi wrote Sishuzhangjujizhu(《四书章句集注》).The books in Xiaoxue class are literacy books for children, which is related with Confucian enlightenment education. The books of the "Youyi","Bifa","Mengqiu" and "Jisong" are all in the Xiaoxue class.Sikuquanshuzongmu Considered the books in Xiaoxue class as the vassal of Jing part. The books except for the text, phonology, exegetical books are excluded from the Xiaoxue class, which made the connotation of Xiaoxue class greatly reduced. The relationship between the Confucian class and Shi part is also very close. The books in Zhengshi class are written basically in accordance with the Confucian ideology(such as the hierarchical thinking in the Spring and Autumn《春秋》).The "outline and item structure"arrangement of Sikuquanshuzongmu reflects that the entire Shi part is a "big Zhengshi".Confucian and the entire history are closely related. The Biography class books are the most closely related to Confucian among the other classes in Shi part. The books of Confucian figure biography and Confucian school biography, together with the books in Jing part and Confucian class, constitute the Confucian’s deeds and words. The relationship between the Confucian class and the Zi part is that the Confucian dominates the others. The Confucian class is listed in the first place in Zi part of the bibliography books in history, which reflects the admiration of Confucian. The Za school is the most closely related to Confucian among the other classes in Zi part. The Za school originated in Qin and Han Dynasties is closely related to the counselors and assistants. The view that“Za school sources from Yiguan" is worthy of affirmation. The Za school can be considered as philosopher of methodological significance. The Confucian thought experienced the influence Za school in terms of methodology after the Qin and Han dynasties, which contains political Confucian and minded Confucianism. There is a name-real relation to some extent between the Confucian class and Ji part books. The Confucian class books such as Xunzi(《荀子》),Xinyu(《新语》),Xinshu(《新书》)have the property of Ji in form. The books which is named Ji such as Muzhong Ji(《木钟集》),Yi’an Yiji(《一庵遗集》)also listed in the Confucian class. The Bieji class books are the most closely related to Confucian among Ji part, which can be called Confucian bieji broadly. And they are divided into three types—big Confucian’s Bieji,Confucian officials’ Bieji,Confucian literati’s Bieji, according to the relationship with Confucian. In terms of the study of the relationship between the Confucian class and the confucianism history and academic history, the cataloging method which Sikuquanshuzongmu divides the Confucian class books into two stages of the pre-Neo-Confucianism and Neo-Confucianism period, has the characteristic of the staging of Confucianism. The theory of two confucianism stages which investigates the development of confucianism from the perspective of Neo-Confucianism,isn’t only able to show the development of pre-Neo-Confucianism,but also ignore the development of Lu Wang’s Neo-Confucianism,which is related to the limitation of bibliography. As the subject of Confucianism, the Classics Books are listed in the Jing Part, and the historiography books and Collections, which is closely related to Confucianism, haven’t been incorporated into the confucianism stages, with the influence of "Daotong" theory on the Sikuquanshuzongmu, the Confucian class’s attempt to confucianism stages has failed finally.Since Manchu established the Qing Dynasty, the government advocated the Neo-Confucianism,which played a positive role in the stability of the political situation in the early Qing dynasty, but Cheng Zhu’s Neo-Confucianism also became a destabilizing factor in terms of thought(such as "Yi Xia’s Discrimination")and form(such as "lectures ")to a certain extent, which made a tension between the respect of Cheng Zhu’s Neo-Confucianism in the Confucian class and the attention to textual research on the whole in Sikuquanshuzongmu. The Qing Dynasty created a strong textual research atmosphere through the compilation of Sikuquanshu, which is to eliminate some of the drawbacks of Cheng Zhu Neo-Confucianism in order to strike the political clique, and further limit freedom of speech. It can be said that the dispute between Han and Song academic in Qianlong middle and late period is the dispute between theoretical research and textual research on the surface, but it’s the political power’s serosion of the academic, imperial power’ s tame on the Confucian scholars essentially.
