| Xuan Zhenjian is the founder of Korean short stories.a writer with excellent skills,and one of realistic representative writers.In this paper,the realistic critical method,social historical critical method,comparative literature research method,reception aesthetics theory and intertextuality theory are used to analyze feature features,writing technique features and association with foreign literature in short stories of Xuan Zhenjian.This paper includes six parts,including:Chapter one is introduction,which mainly introduces research objects and objectives of the paper.The author sorts out research achievements of wise men for Xuan Zhenjian’s novels,points out shortcomings,and indicates direction for the topic.Furthermore,the author proposes the research methods in this paper and briefly narrates the research significance.Chapter two includes lifetime and literature view introduction of Xuan Zhenjian.In this paper,Xuan Zhenjian’s course of life is used as the creative motive power of his literature.Also,the author sorts out lifetime and family of Xuan Zhenjian.When society enters into the modernized process,Xuan Zhenjian’s family copes with social reform in different ways.Active family members in society cause a great impact of the writer’s world outlook.Also,by analyzing "Korean soul" and "modern spirit" of Xuan Zhenjian,the author finds that Xuan Zhenjian positively responds to realistic problems and focuses on literature view features of content value.In theme settings,he advocates starting from the most urgent problems.In structural settings,he advocates linking all plots.In figure settings,he advocates establishing dynamic figures.With regards to description techniques,he advocates distinguishing planar description rom stereoscopic description,especially for the latter.Chapter three analyzes figures in Xuan Zhenjian’s short stories,including three types.The first type is the intellectual image under the colonial rule social background.The second type is the urban petty bourgeois with horrifying plight under the social tragedy.The third type is the alienated common people in dark society with colonial rule.Through analysis,the writer realizes maladjustment of intellectuals,two-stage differentiation of class,and common people’s suffering,showing that the writer concerns the entire society.The novel shapes incapable intellectual figures who are indifferent to the family economic status.These figures seldom concern real lie and often feel worried and helpless about practical problems in life.Common people live a poor and miserable life in society,showing tragedy of common people.By depicting personal and social contradictions,the writer criticizes the weak social consciousness and passive critical consciousness of figures in the novel.Chapter four analyzes the creative skills in Xuan Zhenjian’s short stories,including three types.The first type is the narrative mode,which analyzes from narrative time,narrative space,narrative perspective and narrative distance.The second type is the satiric writing technique.The third type is the head-tail technique method.In novel creative process.Xuan Zhenjian uses the dramatic recurrent mode to vaisualize figures and then utilizes a suitable narrative mode and narrative distance,thus readers will appreciate works from the aesthetic perspective.He realizes that narrative mode determines the meaning expressed by the novel.Therefore,a suitable speaker is selected.The narrative role of the speaker is freely switched in the novel.According to structural features of Xuan Zhenjian’s novels,it is easy to find out ironic utilization.He is a good at the means of satire,which is connected with realism.It not only loyally reveals reality,but also shapes today’s social reality into a model.Xuan Zhenjian early realizes importance of a novel’s beginning,showing that he spares great efforts on the beginning and ending in his works.He utilizes the writing technique of modern novels in the beginning and also utilizes dramatic reversal technique in the ending.Chapter five analyzes the association between Xuan Zhenjian’s novels and foreign literature.In early stage of novel writing,Xuan Zhenjian utilizes his enlightenment as translating foreign literary works,accepts and imitates the novel and unique literary world of translated works in his works.The experience of translating foreign literary works not only enables Xuan Zhenjian to indirectly own the diversified reading experience,but also enables him to rapidly contact and master various forms of short stories in such a way.Moreover,through the original works of writers,he realizes "what should be used as a writing object".Furthermore,Xuan Zhenjian who has Japanese study experience intentionally or unintentionally has been affected by popular private novels in Japanese literary world during the period.The novels "by-side" type in initial stage of Xuan Zhenjian are created under the influence of Japanese private novels’ autobiographical elements.Moreover,novel writing of Xuan Zhenjian happens to have the same view with Chekhov,a Russian writer.Aesthetic value of Chekhov’s works is targeted at the political tendency to pursue for realism.This corresponds to the world utterance background of Xuan Zhenjian.The correspondence enables Xuan Zhenjian to learn artistic form and aesthetic form from Chekhov.By making a comparison on Feel Sleepy of Chekhov and Fire of Xuan Zhenjian.the Sixth Ward of Chekhov and Dean of Private Mental Disease Hospital of Xuan Zhenjian,as well as Hometown of Chekhov and the same name Hometown of Xuan Zhenjian.there is intertextuality between Chekhov’s novels and Xuan Zhenjian’s novels.In the three groups of works,due to plot similarity,there is intertextuality in the narrative mode or they have destructiveness for actions of figures,so that the works’ ending is developed towards intertextuality in extreme and tragic means of satire or there is intertextuality for using the head-tail technique method in the beginning and ending.Chekhov and Xuan Zhenjian reveal the contradictions between human and environment,as well as human and external world by creating the"useless person" in the end of 19th century,and common people’s suffering,setback,frustration and corruption.Chapter six is the conclusion.By summarizing Xuan Zhenjian’s novel writing,the author elaborates the features of Xuan Zhenjian’s novel writing and elaborates Korean modern literary history status of Xuan Zhenjian.Anyway,Xuan Zhenjian’s literature is developed in the constant autocriticism and overcome of social changes.As a reporter and scholar,Xuan Zhenjian is active in early stage of Korean modern literature.He uses the vision of realism to see the society,utilizes his personal experience and family’s personal experience to witness the social phenomenon,and reveals miserable destiny of colony.Also,he vents poor people’s grievances.He uses realism to depict figures in novels and adopts means of satire to represent miserable destiny of figures. |
