In the 21 st century,China’s socialist modernization has entered a new historical period,which poses new requirements for political,economic,cultural and even ecological construction.One of the requirements is that the cultural prosperity and literary and artistic prosperity should keep pace with the new era and contribute to the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation.Since the 18 th National Congress of the Communist Party of China,Xi Jinping has elevated the sociolist cause of literature and art with Chinese characteristics to a new historical level.Facing the difficulties and contradictions in the development of our literary and artistic cause since the reform and opening-up,based on the need to answer the questions of the new era,president Xi emphasizes the affinity of the socialist literature and art to the people and profoundly expounds the inherent unity between the socialist literature and art and the people,and hereby forms the thought of the affinity of Marxist literature and art to the people in the new era.The thought,under the guidance of Marxist literary and artistic theory and rooted in the practice of China’s literature and art in the new era,answers the questions in the development of China’s literature and art,acts as a program of action for the development and construction of China’s Chinese people’s literary and artistic cause,and is characterized by its distinctive characteristics of the era,practicality and innovation.The thesis intensively studies the thought of the affinity of Marxist literature and art to the people in the
