Cultural Study on the Ceremony of Chinese Traditional EducationCeremony of Chinese traditional education is inextricably linked with the religion,education,politics and culture in ancient China.It is in the form of worship of the Confucian intellectuals represented by Confucius,an important part of ConfuciusTemple school system in Chinese ancient as well as a unique phenomenon in the history of Chinese culture.It contains some important value pursuit,such as inheritance and maintenance of academic tradition and moral order,deep respect for and sincere attitude towards teachers and sages,all which are the embodiment of Confucian culture.Ceremony of Chinese traditional education holds intuitive,lively,vivid,descriptive,interpretive,emotional and other kinds of functions.Various functions fuse together to form a piece of extremely vivid educational image,giving people meaningful enlightenment.In this paper,symbols,performance process,space construction,interactive field,social communication and political control of the ceremony of Chinese traditional education were studied through integrated use of multi-disciplinary research methods such as semiotics,communication science and anthropology,and the deep mechanism of the impact of ritual culture on people was revealed.It is the culture that plays the leading,specifying and coordinating role in development of human beings in deeper and more fundamental level.The culture of specific society and era fundamentally specifies the people's moral pursuit and shape of ideal personality.Saints and sages are the highest ideal personalities advocated by the Confucian culture,and the ultimate goal of Confucian education is to cultivate sage personality.This kind of education tradition which takes the ideal personality as the goal of cultivation was fully reflected in the ceremony of Chinese traditional education,so that the development of human beings was deeply marked by the culture.The ceremony of Chinese traditional education,centered on the inspiration of saint personality charm,aims to shape the people with traditional cultural knowledge and noble virtue through the influence of symbols,formation of interactive field domains,design of performance process,construction of sacred space and other ritual contexts,so as to reach the realm of perfect personality advocated by Confucianism,namely "being sage inside and being kingly outside".
