The Study On The Benign Interaction Of The Olympic Games And Sustainable City

At a time when the numbers of host cities are decreasing and the sustainable development problems of host cities urgently need to be solved,it is necessary to explore the relationship between the Olympic Games and the sustainable development of cities under the theory of sustainable cities to make the Olympic Games and host cities healthy interact and win-win develop.Under the opportunity of Beijing and Zhangjiakou co-hosting the 2022 Winter Olympic Games,it has great significance to solve the economic,environmental and social problems of urban development in the process of hosting the Winter Olympics by using the interactive win-win model between the Olympic Games and sustainable cities.This paper studies the interaction between the Olympic Games and the sustainable city and its impact on the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympic Games by using the methods of literature,case study,expert interview and field investigation,and draws the following conclusions:1.The sustainability of the Olympic Games is premised on the sustainable development of the host city.The concept of “sustainable city” reflects the core content of urban sustainable development.Therefore,to discuss the relationship between the Olympic Games and the sustainable development of the host city is to discuss the relationship between the Olympic Games and the“sustainable city”.2.The "interactive win-win mode between Olympic Games and sustainable city " refers to the development mode of the adaptation of the Olympic environmental planning with the viable environment,the coordination of the Olympic industrial economy with the green economy,and the harmony of the Olympic life way with the harmonious society.Considering the sustainability of the Olympic Games and the sustainable development of the host city,this model is not only in the interests of international organizations such as the IOC,but also in the interests of the host city of the Olympic Games.3.The relationship between Olympic Games and sustainable cities is based on the common goal of human development,and has been put into practice in the reform of IOC policy on sustainable development and in the sustainable development plan of the host cities of the Olympic Games.4.The establishment of the interaction between the Olympic Games and sustainable cities lies in the organic integration of the three pillars of Olympic Games' sports,culture and environment with the three pillars of sustainable city's harmonious society,green economy and viable environment making the Olympic Games to promote the sustainable development of the city;on the other hand,through the concept of sustainable city,it can guide the host city's environmental planning,industrial economy,lifestyle and promote the sustainable development of the Olympic Games.5.As a successful city for hosting the first Olympic under the reform of the Olympic agenda 2020,Beijing is of great significance as a new model of win-win interaction between the Olympic Games and sustainable cities.Under the concept of sustainable environment,Beijing needs to turn the environmental management of the event into the opportunity of long-term improvement of the city environment in environmental planning,and combine the planning of winter and Olympic Games facilities with the development of the city itself and form a legacy with the winter Olympic facilities planning and environmental protection measures.Under the concept of green economy,the Olympic Games in Beijing could follow the principles of “four ideas for hosting Olympics”,and promote the green transformation of urban industrial development,and use the Winter Olympics to promote the growth of city economy.Under the concept of a harmonious society,Beijing and Zhangjiakou need to improve the level of urban public service under the opportunity of the Winter Olympic Games,promote social inclusion and integration,and promote the shaping of urban residents' sustainable way of life.6.For the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region,the 2022 Winter Olympic Games under the interactive win-win mode of the Olympic Games and sustainable city will also accelerate the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei regional environmental coordinative governance,promote the coordinative development of the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei regional economy,and promote the cooperative development of the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei harmonious society.
