The subjects were 172 members of the American Alliance for Health Education. The 86-item survey was administered via email. Participants were chosen for the study if they had a current valid email that could be found either through an online directory or via the web through their workplace. An introductory email, an email with a link to the survey, and a reminder email were sent to encourage participation. Health educators used acupuncture and chiropractic care in greater amounts than the general public. The belief that chiropractic care was safe was a predictor for chiropractic use while using no sources for chiropractic information was a predictive factor for no chiropractic use. Using physicians or other complementary or alternative providers as information sources predicted acupuncture use. | | Keywords/Search Tags: | Chiropractic, Acupuncture, Health educators, Beliefs and behaviors | PDF Full Text Request | Related items |
