The Solar Tower Atmospheric Cherenkov Effect Experiment (STACEE) is a wavefront-sampling, ground-based Cherenkov telescope designed to detect astrophysical gamma rays at energies above 50 GeV. During the fall 2003 observation season, STACEE took part in a multiwavelength observation campaign on the BL Lac object 3C66A. A full analysis of the data reveals that STACEE did not observe a statistically significant excess number of events from 3C66A. This work is a discussion of the STACEE detector, what is known about 3C66A, and the analysis of the STACEE observations of 3C66A. Additionally, analysis of concurrent X-ray observations of 3C66A taken with RXTE is presented. |
