Immobilization of the chemoautotroph Thiobacillus denitrificans for the oxidation of hydrogen sulfide

The chemoautotroph Thiobacillus denitrificans (strain F) has been immobilized by aerobic coculture with floc-forming heterotrophs from an activated sludge treatment facility. Floc with excellent settling properties was produced. No addition of organic carbon was required.
