| A physical model for the diffusion and flow of gases through porous solids is formulated. The model allows for the random nature of individual gas particles moving through a homogeneous solid structure filled with a gas mixture. The Monte Carlo technique, a method of approximately solving mathematical and physical problems by simulation of random quantities, was used to simulate the diffusion process. The model may be used to evaluate the parameters of the dusty gas model, a successful approximation to gas-porous solid diffusion phenomena. |
