This thesis concentrated on the taxonomic study of crab spiders from southern China.Total 123 valid species belonging to 37 genera are recorded. They occupy 41 percent of all valid species and 75 percent of all valid genera in the spider family Thomisidae in China respectively. The species recorded in the current thesis consist of of 97 known species,18 new species,6 supplemental description species and 2 new combination species. The new species include Angaeus jinggangshan sp.nov.,Cebrenninus nonggangensis sp.nov.,Ebrechtella subtricuspidata sp.nov.,Lysiteles subspirellus sp.nov.,Misumenops wuyiensis sp.nov.,Monaeses tangi sp.nov.,Oxytate bicornis Liu,Liu & Xu,2017,O.palmata Liu,Liu& Xu 2017,Ozyptila yani sp.nov.,O.zhengi sp.nov.,Phrynarachne hainanica sp.nov.,Pistius caii sp.nov.,Spilosynema guangxiensis sp.nov.,Synema guoi sp.nov.,S.niger sp.nov.,Talaus jianfenglingensis sp.nov.,Tmarus mangshanensis sp.nov.and T.sublongqicus sp.nov.Two male species are first discovered including Borboropactus jiangyong Yin et al.,2004 and S.nangoku Ono,2002.Four female species are first discovered including Ebrechtella forcipata(Song & Zhu,1993),Massuria ovalis Tang & Li,2010,O.bicornis Liu & Xu,2017 and Xysticus lesserti Schenkel,1963.Finally,two new combination species are provided as Synema spiniformis(Yang,Zhu & Song,2006)comb.nov.and Runcinia pseudovatia(Schenkel,1936)comb.nov.Meanwile,50 species of 28 genera are reviewed based on the clear imagines and detailed descriptions, which is helpful in solving some taxonomic problems caused by lack of clear illustrations, correct line drawings and descriptions, distribution information of species, and so on.The numbers of thomisids from the following 8 provinces of China have increased with addition to the taxonomic result of the present research:Yunnan Province from 94 to 105 species(including 5 new species);Hainan Province from 46 to 57(including 4 new species);Hunan Province from40 to 53(including 1 new species);Guizhou Province from 18 to 19;Fujian Province from 14 to 19(including 1 new species);Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region from 14 to 47(including 4 new species);Jiangxi Province from 8 to 31(including 3 new species);Guangdong Province from 6 to 13.Finally,the relationships of some similar genera are explained and discussed, including Amyciaea Simon,1885 and Smodicinodes Ono,1993;Angaeus Thorell,1881,Pistius Simon,1875 and Epidius Thorell,1877;Pistius and Heriaeus Simon,1875;Diaea Thorell,1869,Ebrechtella Dahl,1907,Mastira Thorell,1891,Synema Simon,1864 and Spilosynema Tang& Li,2010;Misumenops F.O.P.-Cambridge,1900,Thomisus Walckenaer,1805 and Xysticus C.L.Koch,1835;Lysiteles Simon,1895 and Zametopina Simon,1909;Oxytate L.Koch,1878 and Lycopus Thorell,1895;Pharta Thorell,1891 and Pycnaxis Simon,1895;Phrynarachne Thorell,1869 and Simorcus Simon,1895;Runcinia Simon,1875,Monaeses Thorell,1869 and Tmarus Simon,1875;Thomisops Karsch,187 and Stiphropus Gerst(?)cker,1873,which based on some morphological characters s,ecotype and so on.The ecotype of the genera Strigoplus Simon,1885 and Talaus Simon,1886 are also concluded and deduced in this thesis.189 figures of 43 morphological plates and 48 photos of living thomisids are also provided in the present thesis.
