Supply chain management is an important means for enterprises to maintain competition and optimize their operation processes.Effective supply chain management can promote enterprise development,increase market share and maximize revenue.From the perspective of performance evaluation,the entire supply chain can be regarded as a series production system,such as a typical supplier-manufacturer or manufacturer-retailer system.The supply chain system typically consists of two production operation processes or stages.The efficiency evaluation of supply chain system is usually based on two-stage network data envelopment analysis(DEA),and thus is also called as supply chain DEA.Although the traditional supply chain DEA assumes that the two stages of the supply chain system are coordinated,the coordination effect of supply chain on supply chain system efficiency is seldom considered in the existing literature.Moreover,there is no research on the coordination efficiency of supply chain.In view of this,this study examines the measurement of supply chain coordination efficiency.This study includes six chapters.And the main content is summarized as follows:Chapter 1 is the introduction.First,introduce the research background and significance of supply chain coordination efficiency.Then,the method of data envelopment analysis is briefly reviewed,including DEA essentials,basic concepts and models.Next,the main research content and structure of this study are briefly summarized.Last,the innovation of this study is given.Chapter 2 reviews existing literature.Considering the close relationship between supply chain DEA and network DEA,this chapter first reviews the existing network DEA literature.Not only does it systematically review the existing network DEA models according to different efficiency measurement methods,but also analyze the system efficiency studies with different network structures.Based on the literature review of network DEA,the domestic and foreign literature of supply chain DEA is further introduced in detail.After sorting out the literature,the existing literature is summarized,and the deficiencies of the existing research are pointed out.Chapter 3 proposes the measurement method of supply chain coordination efficiency from the perspective of multiplier DEA.First,it outlines the two-stage supply chain system,reviews the efficiency estimation methods of the traditional two-stage production system,and illustrates the existence of the coordination effect between the sub-stages of the two-stage supply chain system through a numerical example.Then,for the simple two-stage system and the general two-stage system,the multiplier DEA models of supply chain coordination efficiency under constant returns to scale(CRS)and variable returns to scale(VRS)are established,respectively.Numerical examples are used to make a comparison to the literature literature,explain the proposed coordination efficiency measurement models and verify the effectiveness of the proposed method.Chapter 4 proposes the measurement method of supply chain coordination efficiency from the perspective of envelopment DEA.Similarly,for the simple two-stage system and the general two-stage system,envelopment DEA models of supply chain coordination efficiency under constant returns to scale(CRS)and variable returns to scale(VRS)are established,respectively.Through a numerical example of a two-stage banking system,the coordination efficiency measurement method is explained and the effectiveness of the proposed method is verified.On the basis of the methods proposed in Chapter 3 and Chapter 4,Chapter 5 compares the coordination efficiency measurement methods based on the multiplier DEA and the envelopment DEA models.Specifically,for the four cases of the simple two-stage system and the general two-stage system under the assumptions of constant returns to scale(CRS)and variable returns to scale(VRS),through the dual transformation of linear models,the multiplier-based coordination efficiency measurement method of DEA and envelopment DEA models are compared.The comparison results show that the coordination efficiency measurement methods based on the multiplier DEA and the envelopment DEA model are completely equivalent.Chapter 6 summarizes the full text,gives the main results and conclusions of this study,points out the shortcomings of this study,and looks forward to the future research directions.The main innovation of this study is as follows:(1)The definition of supply chain coordination efficiency is proposed,and a new DEA method is proposed to measure supply chain coordination efficiency from the perspective of multiplier DEA method;(2)The measurement method of simple two-stage system coordination efficiency is extended to the case of general two-stage system,an improved DEA method is proposed to measure supply chain coordination efficiency;(3)For simple two-stage and general two-stage systems,a supply chain coordination efficiency measurement method is proposed based on the envelopemnt DEA method,respectively;(4)The multiplier DEA method and the envelopemnt DEA method of supply chain coordination efficiency are compared.And it is proved that the two DEA modeling methods are completely equivalent.
