| Objectives:The study aims to analyze Chinese medical doctors for hyperlipidemia as well as the targeted patient health improvement and food adjustment during treatment in addition to their level change of Total cholesterol(TC),LDL-C,HDL-C,and Triglyceride(TG)from blood test after such treatment.Method:Using convenience sampling,we focused on the outpatients after contacting various Chinese medicine clinics.As a result,the subjects are 32 hyperlipidemia patients from four clinics.By means of document and content analysis,enquiry by Chinese medicine doctors,patient food record and blood test after treatment were analyzed.Results:In cooperation with four Chinese medicine clinics,the study recorded 32 hyperlipidemia patients for eight-week treatment.The diagnosis included qi deficiency of spleen and stomach,insufficiency of liver and spleen,deficiency of liver and kidney,damp heat in spleen and stomach,insufficiency of qui and blood,pathological blood heat,damp heat in liver and gall,damp heat.The prescription varied according to different doctors.For example,gastrodia & nucaria Combination,bupleurum & cyperus combination,jiaweixiaoyao san,six element pills,major bupleurum combination,minor bupleurum combination,even a special prescription Lipo Col Forte.Furthermore,single drug includes hawthorn,tangerine peel,cassiaesemen,spatholobus stem,rhubarb,astragalus root.Additionally,doctors made other prescriptions according to patient’s temperament,such as bamboo leaf with plaster,rhizomadrynariae,dried ginger,citrus &cratagusformula,white peony root,fructusamomi,Sambucusformosana Nakai,Bu Yang Huan Wu Tang Extract Powder,teaselroot,coptis & rhubarb combination,toosen danfructus,polygala tenuifolia,poriacocos,capillariscombination,radix ophiopogonis,immature bitter orange,which either was single drug or combination.Conclusions:Based on health improvement with 8-week Chinese medicine treatment,only those who have taken regular medication indicated lower TC,HDL-C,LDL-C and TG.However,patients who actively exercise benefited more medical index decrease than those who merely took medicine regularly. |
