| PurposeThe Total Tumor Load software was used to handle with the systemic disseminated weighted images of multiple myeloma patients to obtain the interval of interest parameters. The repeatability of whole-body diffuse-weighted image processing by different observers using Total tumor load software was evaluated statistically.MethodsPatients who were free of chemotherapy and diagnosed with multiple myeloma by Peking Union Medical College Hospital were included in this study. The exclusion criteria were:the presence of other malignant tumors, the presence of metal sterilization rings in uterus and poor image quality. An examination application form shall be issued by the clinician to inform the patient of the examination process and possible risks, and informed consent shall be signed. Before chemotherapy,we obtained whole-body diffuse-weighted images of each patients. Two different observers were responsible for the image processing using Total Tumor Load software, respectively.First, the whole-body diffuse-weighted image was transformed into grayscale maximum intensity projection pictures and the parts of skull, upper cervical and four limbs were removed.Second,we fixed the b value and the regions of interest were delineated semi-automatically.Finally,intraclass correlation coefficient was calculated using parameters of regions of interest generated by the software mentioned above.ResultsVolume(ICC=0.965,P<0.001),Mean(ICC=0.917,P<0.001),Std(ICC=0.826,P<0.001),Median(ICC=0.904,P<0.001),950%(ICC=0.914,P<0.001),Skewness(ICC=861,P<0.001),Kurtosis(ICC=0.826,P<0.001)have good repeatability.5%(ICC=0.422,P<0.014),Entropy(ICC=0.523,P<0.002)can not be repeated very well.ConclusionEvery tDV and gADC parameter was demonstrated with perfect repeatability except the fifth percentile and entropy. The reproducibility of quantitative analysis of tDV and gADC parameters was good.PurposeThe Total Tumor Load software was used to handle with the systemic disseminated weighted images of multiple myeloma patients to obtain the parameters of tDV and gADC.The quantitative analysis parameters of tDV and gADC in patients with different R-ISS stages and MRI patterns are calculated.MethodsPatients who were free of chemotherapy and diagnosed with multiple myeloma by Peking Union Medical College Hospital were included in this study. The exclusion criteria were:the the parts of skull, upper cervical and four limbs were removed.Second,we fixed the b value and the regions of interest were delineated semi-automatically.Finally,analysis of variance and Kruskal-Wallis analysis are executed for all patients which are divided into three groups by MRI patterns and R-ISS,respectively.And ROC of tDV and gADC parameters of patients of different stages are delineated.Multiple linear regression is carried out among tDV and clinical data.ResultsThe quantitative analysis parameters of tDV and gADC in patients with different R-ISS stages showed statistical differences in Mean,Std,Median,95%and Entropy. The quantitative analysis parameters of tDV and gADC in patients with different imaging modes were statistically different in Volume,Mean,Std,Median,5%,95%,Kurtosis,and Entropy.ConclusiontDV and gADC parameters are capable of distinguish patients of different clinical stages.PurposeThe feasibility of evaluation and prediction of therapeutic response of multiple myeloma patients by tDV and gADC parameters.MethodsPatients who were free of chemotherapy and diagnosed with multiple myeloma by Peking Union Medical gADC parameters of patients of different therapeutic response are delineated.ResultsParameters of tDV and gADC were illustrated statistically significant change before and after therapy. The AUC under the ROC curve of Volume was 1.000,P value was below 0.001,sensitivity and specificity were 100%.The AUC under the ROC curve of Entropy was 1.000,P value was below 0.001,sensitivity and specificity were 100%.ConclusiontDV and gADC quantitative analysis is capable of response evaluation. |
