| Purpose:Collection of number of cases of chicken pox,dengue fever and HFMD(hand,foot and mouth disease)from 21 January,2012 to 19 January,2019 in Changi region,Singapore and the meteorological data during that period.Based on the theory of "Wu Yun Liu Qi" in "Huang Di Nei Jing",investigate how this theory affects the frequencies of the outbreaks of chicken pox,dengue fever and HFMD in Singapore,hoping to provide some ideas to aid Singapore in preventing and curing the above mentioned diseases.Method:A set of data is collected based on the release of number of cases of chicken pox,dengue fever and HFMD by Singapore Ministry of Health in the period of 21 January,2012 to 19 January,2019.For the same period of time,another set of data is collected that records the meteorological data of Changi region.It contains average temperatures,average rainfalls,average wind speeds and average maximum wind speeds.When making comparisons of the two sets of data,the following presentations are made:box-and-whisker plot,"Kruskal Wallis" test,"Kendall" examination and Probability Density Distribution.These comparisons target to discover the relationship between the outbreaks of chicken pox,dengue fever and HFMD,and the changes in Wu Yun Liu Qi and the weathers.Results:1.With 90%reliability,there was no statistically significant difference in the number of cases of chicken pox over seven years.2.With 90%to 95%reliability,there was a statistically significant difference in the number of cases of dengue fever over seven years.3.With 85%reliability(unable to reach 90%),there was a statistically significant difference in the number of cases of HFMD,it reached its peak in the year of 2012.4.Over the 7 years,the outbreaks of chicken pox between Er Zhi Qi,Si Zhi Qi and the average temperatures have a negative correlation.However,HFMD outbreaks have a positive correlation between San Zhi Qi,Wu Zhi Qi and the average rainfalls.For dengue fever outbreaks,there is a high possibility of positive correlation between Si Zhi Qi and the average rainfalls.5.Tests that based on numerals,with 90%reliability,indicate that cases of dengue fever,HFMD and chicken pox during Liu Qi are unrelated to the four meteorological factors.6.From the graphs of Probability Density Distributions,chicken pox outbreaks tend to happen in the Spring season,but will decrease and stabilize after that.Dengue fever outbreaks tend to happen in the Spring and Summer seasons.HFMD outbreaks tend to happen during the Autumn and Winter season.Conclusion:In Singapore,there are correlationships between the outbreaks of Chicken Pox,Dengue Fever,HFMD and meteorological factors.The outbreaks also have correlationships with Wu Yun Liu Qi.There are more cases of Chicken Pox virus reported in the spring than any other time of year.The traditional Dengue peak season could last for a few months,from spring to summer.Outbreaks of HFMD peaks in the autumn and winter seasons.Precautionary measures should be taken during these seasons. |
