Women's Rhetoric Studies

The rhetoric for women is a speech event which is used for expressing themselvs and conveying certain meanings. It contains the unique perception of women for the life and the world. The rhetoric for women in Han culture not only shows a corresponding characteristics in the aspects of wording and phrasing, but also embodies certain aesthetic style, due to the subject of rhetoric has some orientation in social cultural. Moreover, It exerts the unique value in the real language life.Based on the importance and necessity of the research on "feminine rhetoric", I take the influence of gender attribute of the rhetoric body to rhetoric as the pointcut, adopt the contrast, statistics, quantitative analysis etc methods to overall study the relevant issues of" feminine rhetoric ".The study is divided into six chapters. The first chapter is "generally speaking on feminine rhetoric", I emphasize the profound influence of the social cultural orientation for women to "feminine rhetoric", through hackling the concept and connotation of "gender" of women, and closely relating feminine rhetoric with their orientation in social cultural. I explicitly point out that Chinese women have the characteristics of docile, humility, tolerance, and reflect a distinct texture of "feminine", because they live in the traditional culture. And I also think that this cultural orientation has permeated into women's verbal express, it makes "feminine rhetoric" showing different textures with " masculine rhetoric" in many aspects.The second chapter is "the principles of feminine rhetoric ". I put forward two basic principles which derived from the Han culture shaping Chinese women in rhetoric, named " harmonized" and "soften ". I think why the "feminine rhetoric" hold the two basic principles, is originated from woman's rhetoric needs in order to meet with their social role, achieve communicative purpose. Meanwhile I point out, it will show a certain diversity and different level even they observe the two principles, because woman has individual characteristics such of age, cultural quality and so on.The third and the fourth chapters, I study from two aspects of women's language expressing, the modal particles and the sentence usage. And I sum up some specific performances in "feminine rhetoric", during the course of the comparative analyzed on the data which is collected from lots of men and women's words and sentences in the use of the modal particles and the sentence usage. By analyzing the data, I think the characteristics of the modal particles and the sentence usage in "feminine rhetoric" has intimate relationship with they consciously abide by the principles of "harmonized" and "soften".The fifth chapter is "the aesthetic characteristics in feminine rhetoric under the restriction of rhetoric principles", I analyze the aesthetic characteristics of "beauty of femininity" which is constructed by "feminine rhetoric". I think the characteristics are consistent to the aesthetic paradigm of "the masculine female and the feminine male" in Han culture. At the same time I point out that the "beauty of femininity" in feminine rhetoric reflects the spirit of our age, by analyzing the aesthetic components of the "beauty of femininity" in feminine rhetoric.The sixth chapter is "the value of feminine rhetoric under the restriction of the principles", I study some academic problems about feminine rhetorical value. I analyze the reasons why the women's rhetorical value is ignored in the long term, as well state the basis on philosophy and aesthetics why the women's rhetorical value can exist. I explicitly point out that the prominent value of "feminine rhetoric" is "harmony". Thus it is emphasized that "feminine rhetoric" has great significant impact on good friendly relationship, social harmony. Meanwhile, I think the changes of "feminine rhetoric" in view of the contemporary social background, deviate from the "harmony" value, it makes the feminine rhetoric can't play the greatest value. Only when is the "feminine rhetoric" consistent to the essential attribute of "harmony" thought, actively surpass its negative factors, propagate its positive factors, it can realize the greatest value.
