The Diary in Rehe written in 1783,is a travel diary written by the north Korean scholar Pak Chi-won in 1780,after his cousin pak ming-won to pay tribute to Beijing.Though the book as a "diary",but the account content is widespread,involves the objects system,political economy,folk culture and other contents of the Qing dynasty in the Kang-Qian period and showed a panoramic picture of the social life of the Qing dynasty in the 18 th century to readers.The Diary in Rehe also referred to as a important practical encyclopedia,the Qing dynasty society encyclopedia,in the top ranking paper work of the Yanxing record.This paper takes the literature and language of The Diary in Rehe as the research object,makes a detailed survey,description and analysis of the four important Chinese versions that can be found,and makes a comprehensive study of the abundant Chinese characters and vocabulary contents.The full text is divided into five parts,the main contents include:Ⅰ.Introduction to the version and features of The Diary in Rehe.The four complete Chinese versions which this paper based on are: Taipei central library collection manuscripts(referred to as “tai version”),Seoul national university library collection KuiZhang pavilion manuscripts(referred to as “kui version”),the Beijing Library Press,according to a 1932 editing and publishing version by Dadong Printing House(referred to as “dadong version”)and the modern proofreading version published by Shanghai Bookstore Press in 1997(referred to as “proofreading version”).Four versions with many variations,are the good and bad intermingled.This paper makes further inferences and analyses on the source and flow relationships between the four versions.Ⅱ.Collating research of The Diary in Rehe.In this paper,for the first time,“kui version”(photocopy),which has not been studied at home and abroad,is used as the base,through which “tai version” and “dadong version” are surveyed.In the process of edition correction,also makes up for the Chinese characters and words errors in the“proofreading version”.Through careful investigation,we found and sorted out the erroneous,variations,inversions,renegades,redundants and other collating problems in the four editions,which laid a solid foundation for the subsequent research.Ⅲ.Study on the folk characters in The Diary in Rehe.The folk characters are a kind of variant of Chinese characters in application.With the spread of Chinese characters outside the region,the folk characters also go out with the appearance.It can be said that the Korean folk characters are also a variant generated in the development and transmission of Chinese characters.The Diary in Rehe was written in the late Li dynasty and the middle Qing dynasty.This paper analyzed the classification and characteristics of the Chinese folk characters and the Korean folk characters in The Diary in Rehe,and discussed the causes and constitutional rules of these folk characters.Ⅳ.Vocabulary research of The Diary in Rehe.The Diary in Rehe is an overseas Chinese book written and inscribed by foreigners.The author,Pak Chi-won,acquired the written Chinese language well and was able to write in Chinese expertly.The grammar of The Diary in Rehe is mostly in the form of classical Chinese,but its vocabulary is complex,rich in content and unique features.The vocabulary types of the works mainly include the Chinese source words,other source words and self source words.In addition,there are some colloquial words,proverbs and idioms in the works,they had built a distinctive vocabulary system together in The Diary in ReheⅤ.See the lexical contact between Chinese and Korean languages from The Diary in Rehe.The borrowing of Chinese words and the creation and use of them are the result of the lexical contact between Chinese and Korean languages.The path of lexical contact mainly includes "written contact" and "oral contact".The mechanism of lexical contact is shown as: "communication"--"borrowing"--"imitation"--"creation".The whole process of lexical contact between Chinese and Korean languages are as follows:(1)the precondition : "sufficient acquisition"--(2)the process ⅰ: "generative production"--(3)the process ⅱ: "spreading"--(4)the processⅲ: "reacquisition".In addition,the paper also discussed the results of vocabulary contact and its influencing factors.
