A Study On Daily Life Narration Of Urban Novels Since 1990s

Whether it is the study of urban novels,the study of daily life narration,or the study of urban-rural relationship,all of them are the hot topics that scholars care about at present.However,up to now,few scholars have combined the three to conduct research.The thesis tries to combine the three organically.Based on the perspective of rural-urban relationship,it takes daily life narration of urban novels since 1990 s as the research object,focusing on the discussion of four dimensions,that is,daily life space,daily life consumption,daily life emotion and daily life narrative characteristics.According to discussion,it shows the diversified city daily life and living state and spiritual appeal of urban and rural individuals.And it expects to explore the urban-rural relationship in the daily life narration of urban novels since 1990 s,reflects on the change of rural culture in the process of urbanization and the exclusion and infiltration between urban and rural culture.In the dimension of daily life space,the relationship between urban and rural areas in urban novels since the 1990 s presents two kinds of relationships,that is,the co-location relationship and the mutual-view relationship.The co-location relationship is firstly demonstrated by describing a series of living space inhabited by rural people in cities,such as “village in the city”,hair salon,bridge cave and garbage dump,as well as the research for rural symbols such as animals,rural clothes and local accent and the elaboration of rural life memory,so as to deduce the unique spatial scene in the process of urbanization and show the pursuit of “roots” by rural people in rootless cities.The co-location relationship is secondly demonstrated by discussing the rural wandering in cities,such as male migrant workers,rural women,intellectuals “from the countryside to the city” to show their difficult life in the bottom of the city,the suspension and ambiguity of their identity,and their firm expectation of urban life.The mutual-view relationship shows the rich cultural codes of cities and villages through the description of the countryside in the eyes of the city and the city in the eyes of the countryside.It not only shows the desire,panic and bewilderment of rural people for modern urban life,but also expresses the multi-dimensional thinking of urban people for traditional rural life.In the dimension of daily life consumption,the relationship between urban and rural areas in urban novels since the 1990 s presents a pattern of the coexistence of alienation and assimilation of urban and rural consumption.The alienation of urban and rural consumption is reflected by the alienation of consumption driven by material desire,body desire and power desire,which highlights the materialized characteristics in urban space,shows the life state that individuals fall into the trap of beauty consumption,indicates the coming of a lust consumption era,and shows the core image of power symbol.Based on the discussion of the transformation of rural consumption ethics,the aesthetics transformation of urban consumption and the consumption guidance of urban media,the thesis points out that the consumption concept,consumption behavior and consumption aesthetics of rural people are assimilated by urban consumption culture.First of all,the traditional consumption ethics symbolized by frugality is gradually assimilated by the desire consumption ethics of cities.Secondly,with the displacement of the cultural field,those who“move from the countryside to the city” are also transformed by modern consumption aesthetic concepts and assimilated by secularized aesthetic experience.Thirdly,the contents and images conveyed by the urban media shape the daily lifestyle and consumption ideology of individuals in the city,and guide rural people to adjust their lifestyle from time to time according to the life plan projected by the media.In the dimension of daily life emotion,urban novels since the 1990 s show the conflict of human nature through the entanglement and fission narration of urban and rural emotion.Firstly,the entanglement of urban and rural emotion is discussed through the relationship between urban male and rural female,urban female and rural male,and rural male and female in the city.It points out the commercial nature of the marriage between rural female and urban male,the kneeling life of rural male after the union with the urban female,and the transformation of marriage view of rural male and female under the influence of modern urban culture.Secondly,the entanglement of urban and rural emotion is discussed through the relationship of urban-rural parents and children,urban-rural brothers and sisters of the novels do not show the particularity of individuals as human beings.For the reference of western absurd narrative,writers no longer pursue absurdity in form like avant-garde literature,but strive to combine artistry and readability.However,some works have obvious imitation traces and high theme repetition rate.Secondly,it shows the extreme and multidimensional narrative characteristics of suffering narrative.Thirdly,it also shows the drama in daily life narration,which is presented through the display of urban and rural conflict situations and the reasonable design of suspense in daily life narration.From the perspective of urban-rural relationship,the study of daily life narration of urban novels since the 1990 s is a mirror for us to understand urban-rural relationship and human nature.At the same time,to explore the focus and reflection level of contemporary urban fiction writers on urban and rural daily life will promote the harmonious and stable relationship and the benign communication between urban and rural areas.
