A New Perspective Of Translator's Subjectivity:From Disembodied View To Embodied View Of Translator

The emergence and development of the concept of translation separation is greatly influenced and promoted by philosophy.China's holistic philosophy emphasizes the generality,generalization and integration,so it has given birth to the emergence of such a concentrated translation concept as "faithfulness,expressiveness,elegance".Such translation concepts reflect the ancient oriental philosophy of "the unity of heaven and man".Western translation theory is deeply influenced by analytical philosophy,attaches great importance to the categorization of nature,all things should be qualitative,classified,traceable and reasoned before cognition,Thus,there has been the appearance of linguistics,hermeneutics,kinetics,culture,deconstruction,post-colonial schools,and so on.And have emerged the concept of essentialism translation,the view of anti-essentialism translation and the translation view of deconstructionism.Western translation theory focuses on "planes",while domestic translation theory focuses on "point",that is,the translation concept of "point" on behalf of "plane".The lack of the translator's "body dimension",the imbalance of translation theory at home and abroad,and the lack of explanation of the translation's disfigured features foreshadow the rise of the translation body view.Disembodied translation view is that the translator's mind is not related to the body,even translation can operate through imitation and logic modeling,physical structure,the translator's physical characteristics,physical perception and translation has no substantial correlation.The translator's emotions,physical resources,and physical structure attached to the body are not related to the translation,the reason is the lack of translator's "phenomenal body" cognition.As the core theory of second-generation cognitive science,the theory of physical cognition(its core argument: body-related mentality;cognitive unconsciousness;metaphorical thinking)explains how human beings obtain information through the body,characterize knowledge and concepts,and put forward the knowledge characterization of the body structure and the body's dependence on the physical structure and the physical experience of its environment.Embodied translation view is the experience concept that the translator intervenes in the text as an organism.The translator consciously mobilizes the physical resources,gathers the conscious flow of mind and the unconscious physical resources,and drives the physical intention and resources under the guidance of the psychological intension.Translator's physical experience ? physical and mental changes,emphasizing the translator's physical appearance,physical resources,physiological changes and the integration of psychological,physiology and language.Therefore,it has theoretical guiding significance for the construction of translation theory,especially the study of translator subjectivity.Along with the support of some scientific empirical data for body cognition and the discovery of mirror neurons,the theory of body is a powerful empirical support for the research of cognitive psychology,management,translation research,linguistics and other fields.Body cognition has become a new thinking orientation and a new way of study,and the translation body view inevitably takes the translator's attention,emotion,body experience and body structure as the research perspective,which is of great significance to the study of translation research and interdisciplinary study.The relationship between embodied translation view and disembodied translation view should not be explained one-sidedly,separately and independently,but can be dynamically,connectively and systematically understood.Investigating the relationship and evolution process between the two from the perspective of symbiosis,the purpose is to make translation theory more systematic,complete and integrated characteristics.In view that the "physical function" of the translator is an unavoidable subject for Chinese and western translation theorists,embodied translation view tries to interpret translation behavior with the body dimensions,which is conducive to resolving the diaphragm of Chinese and western translation concepts and finally reaching the integration and consensus of translation concepts.
