| China has entered an aging society, and the degree of aging is deepening. The gradual increase of the proportion of the elderly population makes the improvement and improvement of the quality of life and the level of welfare of the elderly not only relate to the welfare of the elderly themselves, but also become the development of the whole society. At the same time,"health problem" is the primary concern and related problem of the elderly and it is also an urgent problem to be solved in China at present. Therefore,China has introduced the "Healthy China 2030" Program Outline, which points out that healthy behavior and lifestyles are the main path to achieve health. In recent year, with the continuous improvement of China’ s economic level, the main contradiction in our country has become the contradiction between the people’s growing needs for a better life and unbalanced and inadequate development. The pursuit of a better life is also the inherent demand of the elderly, and “tourism” has become an effective way to improve the quality of life of the elderly in their later years because of its dual characteristics of “happiness” and “health characteristics”.In this context, the relationship between tourism activities and the health of the elderly has become an urgent research issue for researchers in this field.Scholars have carried out a series of studies on this issue from the perspectives of tourism activities bringing "benefits" to the elderly, social tourism and health tourism. However, there are still a series of problems in the existing research, such as weak theoretical foundation, lack of unified research framework or research theory support, and lack of theoretical dialogue with related disciplines. The research method is relatively limited, mainly using interview method to study, which leads to only to describe the characteristics of the facts of the research problem,or the cross-sectional data obtained by questionnaire survey method cannot realize the quantitative estimation of causality between variables. The research content is limited.More research focuses on the elderly tourism market, and less attention is paid to the basic problem of the relationship between tourism activities and the health of the elderly and the detailed research on this basic problem under the unified research framework.Based on the demand of practice and the lack of current theoretical research, this paper selects "the impact of the tourism activities for the elderly health and its influencing mechanism" to study this problem.Which not only responds to the call of the times, but also combs the basic problem of the relationship between tourism activities and the health of the elderly in the study.By constructing a unified research framework and quantitative analysis within the research framework,it makes up for the deficiency of this research field. Therefore, this study has certain theoretical and practical significance.Specifically, the main problems are: does tourism activities have an impact on the health of the elderly? Is the impact simple,or is it a complex, systemic impact? What are the main paths of influence? What are the main mechanisms that affect the functioning? What are the major variables involved in the mechanism,i.e.the major antecedent variables, outcome variables, mediating variables, and situational variables? In order to solve the problem of the main research, this study defines the main research concepts on the basis of literature review, and constructs a theoretical model of the interaction between variables by using the research paradigm of grounded theory. This model not only includes the main problems to be studied in this study, but also includes the precursor mechanism and transmission mechanism of the impact of tourism activities on the health of the elderly. It is a comprehensive research framework of the impact of tourism activities on the health of the elderly. In addition,in order to make the research scientific, this study also selected typical research variables in the theoretical framework for empirical estimation. In the specific operation,in order to solve the problem that there is no mature theory to support and the lack of a unified theoretical framework in the existing research. This study uses in-depth interviews to obtain research data, uses the grounded theory research paradigm, obtains the main categories related to the research through the interview text coding analysis, and analyzes the logical relationship between categories,so construct the theoretical model. In the follow-up empirical analysis,in order to solve the problem that the cross-sectional data of the survey cannot be used for causal inference and for the sample selection problem caused by the sample of this study is only the sample of the elderly tourists and the lack of the sample of the elderly tourists who do not travel. This paper selects the propensity score matching(PSM)to solve this endogenous problem. In order to study the mechanism of the impact of tourism activities on the health of the elderly, based on the theoretical model, this paper selects the proxy variables of tourism activities, such as the frequency of tourism activities, the experience of tourism activities and the number of days of tourism.Self-rated health, physical function, number of chronic diseases, depression tendency, daily social communication ability and social communication ability in tourism were selected as proxy variables for the health status of the elderly. So as to estimate the multidimensional mediating effect of tourism activities in different elements of tourism activities and different aspects of the health of the elderly, and further analyze the mediating effect of overall life satisfaction.Similarly,in order to estimate the moderating effect of situational factors on the impact of tourism activities on the health of the elderly, this paper estimates the moderating effect of self-efficacy and tourism activity control between the above multidimensional variables. The main conclusions of this paper include three parts, one is the main conclusions of theoretical model construction, the second is the main conclusions of main effect estimation, the third is the main conclusions of mechanism analysis. To sum up,the mechanism of the impact of tourism activities on the elderly is a complex process, which involves multi-variable and multi-path mechanism. Both qualitative research through in-depth interviews and empirical research through empirical data analysis have demonstrated this point : the impact of tourism activities on the health of the elderly is multi-dimensional,multi-path,affected by different situations, and has a complex phenomenon of multiple variables.Although there are also negative effects on the body caused by improper control of tourism activities and other unpredictable factors, the conclusion of this study is more obvious to prove that tourism activities have a positive impact on the health of the elderly. This positive impact is not only reflected in the process of tourism activities, but also ’ spilled ’ into daily life, such as improving the self-rated health of the elderly, improving the physical function of the elderly, increasing their positive emotions in daily life, and improving their daily social interaction ability. That is,the impact of tourism activities on the health of the elderly has a welfare effect to improve their daily health level. As can be seen from the above discussion, this paper has realized innovation in four parts, the first is the innovation of research content, the second is the innovation of research data, the third is the innovation of research method, and the last is the innovation of research conclusion. |
