Research On Flexible Electronics-based TCM-type Respiratory Monitoring Method

Objective:Under the guidance of TCM theories,combined with the emerging technologies,we explored the construction of TCM-type respiration monitoring method based on flexible electronics,which could provide new ideas and methods for TCM diagnosis and treatment of respiratory abnormalities.Method:(1)Theoretical research on respiration in TCMThis study systematically reviewed the basics of respiration in TCM,and summarized the associated feature of respiration and disease.The research status of respiration monitoring methods based on flexible sensing technology and commonly used in modern medicine was summarized.(2)Construct a wearable respiration monitoring system based on flexible electronicsBased on literature research,using fabrics as the substrate materials,MXene and multi-wall carbon nanotubes(MWCNT)as humidity sensitive materials,the original fabrics were converted into MXene/MWCNT electronic fabrics with humidity sensing properties by alternate assembly.The modified fabric was integrated into a miniaturized,lightweight wireless humidity sensing tag,using flexible printing circuit board technology.The tag is embedded in the mask.The data was transmitted to the mobile terminal wirelessly by the Bluetooth module in the tag,thereby constructing the wearable respiration monitoring system based on flexible electronics.(3)The constructed wearable monitoring system was used to study the method of TCM-type respiration monitoringUsing the wearable respiration monitoring system based on MXene/MWCNT fabric humidity sensor,we collected respiratory data from different respiratory states,analyzed respiratory waveform characteristics,and qualitatively analyzed them with respiratory symptoms of TCM.Matlab 2018 b software was used to extract respiratory parameters and analyze the changes of the characteristic parameters of respiratory waveform before and after movement and the association of TCM respiratory symptoms such as “dongzeqiduan”、“dongzechuanshen”.TCM respiratory information was analyzed using a flexible electron-based pulse wave detection system combined with the respiration monitoring system constructed in this study.Results:(1)Theoretical research results of TCM respirationRespiration is closely related to zang-fu organs of human body.The etiology and pathogenesis are complicated and difficult to distinguish.The description of abnormal respiratory symptoms is diversified,vague and confused.The complications of respiratory symptoms are complex,and respiratory abnormalities can appear in various diseases of TCM.There are difficulties in TCM respiratory syndrome differentiation.It is necessary to pay attention to the severity and urgency,identify critical cases and treat them timely.(2)A flexible electronic respiration monitoring system with excellent sensing performance was constructedThe constructed humidity sensor based on MXene/MWCNT fabric showed a humidity response of 265% at 90% RH.The folding and twisting deformations of MXene fabric sensor led to the maximum response variation of 5.7% and 11.7%,respectively.Whereas,the response of MXene/MWCNT fabric sensor only varied within 3% under both deformations.Under stretching deformation,the MXene/MWCNT fabric sensor showed small response variation of 7%,which is greatly alleviated,compared with response variation of 35% of MXene fabric sensor.In addition,the maximum hysteresis of MXene/MWCNT fabric was-3.15%RH,and the humidity response drift was not obvious and the offset was within 0.03.In general,MXene/MWCNT fabrics have high sensitivity,low hysteresis,good repeatability and anti-interference,and have good response stability under different deformation conditions.The excellent humidity sensing performance of MXene/MWCNT fabric humidity sensor ensures that the constructed wearable respiration monitoring system can real-time,continuously,long-term,and wirelessly monitor human respiration.(3)Analysis of respiratory symptoms in TCM based on flexible electronic respiration monitoring systemThe wearable respiration monitoring system based on flexible electronics has good detection performance,can accurately collect abnormal respiratory curves associated with respiratory symptoms of TCM,and conduct qualitative analysis on them.Symptoms such as “qiduan”、“duanqi”、 “xuchuan” may have the characteristics of shallow fast breathing curve;symptoms of “shichuan” may have the characteristics of deep slow breathing curve;critical syndromes such as gas syncope,blood syncope and stroke may have the characteristics of apnea breathing curve.The respiratory parameters extracted by Matlab 2018 B software,such as respiratory frequency,respiratory depth and inhalation-breath ratio,can be used for quantitative analysis of human respiratory changes.Quantitative analysis of abnormal changes of respiration before and after human activities has verified the good performance of the system in monitoring the TCM respiratory symptoms such as “dongzechuanshen”、“dongzeqiduan”.In addition,the pulse characteristics reflected by the pulse wave detection system are consistent with those of the respiration monitoring system in analyzing respiratory characteristics based on TCM theory.Conclusion:(1)By integrating TCM respiratory theory and flexible sensing technology,and with the help of discipline cross advantage,a TCM respiration monitoring method based on flexible electronics can be established to realize multi-system joint detection,combined quantitative and qualitative analysis of TCM respiratory abnormalities.(2)The TCM respiration monitoring method based on flexible electronics can qualitatively analyze the characteristics of abnormal respiratory curve,and quantitatively analyze the abnormal changes of human respiration by extracting respiratory parameters.The pulse wave detection system and respiration monitoring system based on flexible electronics can obtain pulse wave information and respiration information respectively,realizing multi-diagnosis respiratory abnormality analysis based on multi-system joint detection.(3)The TCM respiration monitoring method based on flexible electronics has excellent performance of detection components.Especially,it can maintain a stable humidity response under the condition of deformation,which can ensure that the constructed monitoring system has the advantage of accurately collecting respiration signals and analyzing respiratory status in various dynamic application scenarios.It can provide theoretical and practical reference for TCM daily respiratory health management and diagnosis and treatment of respiratory abnormalities.
