Research On The Ancient Horoscope Astrological Documents

Horoscope astrology refers to the divination of someone’s destiny according to the position of planets at the time of one’s birth and their auspicious and ominous meanings.Based on the observation of planets,it belongs to the Western horoscope astrology.It can be seen from the existing documents and archaeological materials that horoscope astrology began to be introduced into China around the end of Han Dynasty,but its widespread popularity began in Tang Dynasty.And in the long-term spread of horoscope astrology,it constantly collided and communicated with Chinese traditional culture,and finally completed a series of integration in the Song Dynasty,becoming the real Chinese horoscope astrology.At the end of Ming Dynasty and the beginning of Qing Dynasty,the popularity of horoscope astrology and the writing of astrology literature ushered in a peak again,and its influence declined gradually until the Republic of China.This paper is a comprehensive study on horoscope astrological works,horoscope astrological history and horoscope astrological culture,which is based on the comprehensive collection and arrangement of ancient horoscope astrological literature.The main contents are as follows: Firstly,the philological investigation of ancient horoscope astrological documents.Under the guidance of the traditional catalogue documents,the paper collects and sorts out the existing horoscope astrological documents.According to the content and use of the documents,the existing astrological documents can be divided into five categories: Xingqin,Xingping,general theory,ephemeris,and Xing’an,among which the important books are selected for identifying the authors as well as the completion time of the books and their circulation.Secondly,the origin and development of horoscope astrology.This paper focuses on three issues:the literature of Xingqin and the transformation from the twenty-eight Xiu to twentyeight Xingqin,the spread and evolution of ephemeris from Tang Dynasty to Qing Dynasty,and the characteristics of Xingping integration in the horoscope astrological literature of Song,Yuan,Ming and Qing Dynasties.Thirdly,the study of horoscope astrological culture.In this paper,the horoscope astrology is brought into the broad vision of social culture.According to the horoscope astrology vocabulary,horoscope astrology poetry and other materials,the actual role and basic features of horoscope astrology culture in the life of rites and customs are examined.At the same time,it also tries to apply horoscope astrological documents to the general textual research of literature and history and excavate its unique historical value.
