Collective Memory,Cultural Boundary And Group Interaction

Hakka is an important part of “the pattern of diversity and unity of the Chinese nation”.Since the Qing Dynasty,large number of Hakka immigrants have entered Sichuan because of history of “Hu-Guang-Filing Sichuan”,and Panlong Town in Rongchang District of Chongqing is an important “distribution center” and “land of emigration” of Hakka people in the movement of “Hu-Guang-Filing Sichuan”.For the needs of survival and development,the Hakka people have lived in Panlong for hundreds of years,forming an immigrant society,meanwhile,the great Hakka culture had been retained,inheritanced and reinvented.Panlong Hakka culture not only contains the excellent ethnic culture gene,at the same time is an integral part of the Hakka culture system,important cultural heritage of the Chinese nation,which represents the development level and spirit of Sichuan Hakka society.Social culture is the classic research area of Ethnology.This paper adopts the narrative mode of “taking the guest as the main”,takes the collective memory,cultural boundary,and group interaction of Panlong Hakkas as the focal point,and uses ethnography as the main and a combination of various research methods to carry out the research.While paying attention to diachronic and realistic,the research context is organized around the research issue,and the research materials are arranged.Based on literature review,the survey outline is formulated and fieldwork is carried out in a planned way to provide vivid case materials for the writing of ethnography.At the same time,this paper discusses the typical characteristics of Panlong Hakka social culture relying on the classical theory,and analyzes the function mechanism of social culture in social maintenance,displays and promotes Hakka culture as well.Panlong Hakka social has historical origin,and it’s social culture had been retained,inheritanced and reinvented in the process of evolution and development.For example,Panlong Hakka’s collective memory are collected in the genealogy,artistry,and songs,which is the important carrier of the Hakka consciousness and the link of Panlong Hakka society between history and reality.At the same time,there is an obvious cultural boundary in Panlong Hakka society,which provides a necessary "space field" for group display.The cultural boundary can be maintained and consolidated because of the"endogenous" cultural demand,and distinct representation is important symbol to identify Panlong Hakka.At present,Panlong Hakka immigrant and local people maintain a good group interaction,and harmonious group interaction can make Panlong Hakka immigrant obtain great benefits in the life after movement.With the deepening of group interaction,"development community" has been formed.Panlong Hakka people have a strong self-cultural identity,but its cultural identity are faced with multiple challenges in real life.The construction of cultural identity is influenced by multicultural society,and cultural identity can be improved under the interaction of“cultural-shelter " and "cultural-display" so as to maintain and consolidate the Hakka society.
