A Study On The Group Of Literati Painters In The Northern Song Dynasty Through The "Literati Gathering In West Garden"

Elegant Gathering is a gathering activity for literati and officials to sing in harmony,meet friends in literature,and talk about elegance,art and ideas with each other.In the Northern Song Dynasty,although there was no obvious act of partisanship,it also became the beginning of the formation of a political party with elegant gathering.The Xiyuan Elegant Gathering in the Northern Song Dynasty was an important gathering activity between Yuanyou literati clusters with Su Shi as the core,and it also left rich historical materials and paintings under the name of "Xiyuan Elegant Gathering".From the perspective of painting practice,combining the historical facts of Xiyuan Yaji and the process of literati painting from germination to establishment,this article discusses the significance of Yaji activities to the development of literati painting and the influence of Xiyuan Yaji on later generations of painting.On the basis of previous studies,combined with the understanding of my own creative practice and the understanding of the spirit of traditional landscape painting,I hope to make a new interpretation of Xiyuan Yaji and the Northern Song Dynasty literati painter cluster.In the first part of this article,while discussing the historical evolution of the cultural phenomenon of Yaji,it comprehensively discusses the unique spirit of the times and the humanistic background of the Northern Song Dynasty literati and painters cluster,focusing on the historical event of Xiyuan and Yaji,as well as the discussion of Xiyuan Yaji since modern times;The second part focuses on the important viewpoints and work styles of the participants in the Xiyuan Yaji’s painting theory and practical creation,emphasizing the concept of the Northern Song Dynasty literati and painters cluster,and compares the Northern Song Dynasty literati and painters with the courtyard.The differences and connections between painters are compared with each other Analysis,painting development,inheritance methods,creative concepts,practical techniques and other different levels of interpretation of the Northern Song Dynasty literati painter’s brush and ink view and Qiu He view,and the participants of the Western Garden Elegant Collection in the late Northern Song Dynasty under the special background of this special era,through frequent friendship Elegant Collection activities to establish the aesthetic foundation of literati painting in literary and artistic thoughts and painting concepts;The third part discusses that under the influence of Xiyuan Elegant Collection,combined with a large number of biographies of "Xiyuan Elegant Collection Map" in Song,Yuan,Ming and Qing Dynasties,from image analysis and technique interpretation,it can be discussed that painters of past dynasties have shown different artistic effects in terms of pen and ink expression,spatial narration,and form composition due to the aesthetic tendency of paintings in different periods when expressing the same parent painting theme of Xiyuan Elegant Collection,which also reflects the inheritance and innovation of painting styles of past dynasties.
