As the mainstream narrative form of TV media,the common feature of TV series and other media narrative forms in storytelling is narrative in movement.The theoretical premise of the TV series’ narrative dynamics research lies in how to recognize the general concept of Narrative Dynamics.What is Narrative Dynamics?The dynamics of narrative movement is narrative dynamics.Narrative dynamics is the generating force of narrative meaning.The narrative of different media,have different narrative dynamics.The narrative dynamics of TV series also has the essential difference from other media narrative dynamics.It’s necessary to analyze and reveal its qualitative stipulation to put forward the Narrative Dynamics of TV Series as a question,and make a real qualitative research on the dynamic law of narrative movement in TV series text.The research on the narrative dynamics of TV series is a theoretical proposition of TV series narratology.TV series is the subject of this study,TV series’ narrative is the research field where this topic belong,and the TV series’ narrative dynamics is the specific research problem what we concern.The main research idea of this paper is based on a series of questions about the TV series’ narrative dynamics,and the answers to these questions are approaching the target.Among them,the three core problems are: the existence of Is What,the concept and connotation of What Is,and the composition and expression of Why the TV series’ narrative dynamics can play the role.The research position of this paper is not the Structure/Discourse of Classical Narratology,but the Procession/Rhetorical in the Post-classical Narratology context.In terms of the research content,the general theoretical framework is mainly constructed from the Narrative Dynamics itself,through qualitative analysis,literature research,and the text as the research method and case analysis,using induction deduction,comprehen sive analysis,abstract generalization,take the essential questioning as the basically logic,make a comprehensive study of the TV series’ narrative dynamics.It’s intended to interpret the essence of its existence,clarify its occurrence principle,and explore its structural form.In terms of theoretical resources,James Phelan’s Rhetorical Narrative and Narrative Progression theory are the main support.In addition,Shen Dan’s Dual Narrative Progression theory is actively cited as the fulcrum,and focuses on Chinese Narratology related research into the formation of reference.It not only follows the discipline paradigm of western narrative studies and constructs theories,but also bases on the fertile field of Chinese narrative culture and captures the essence.Introduction,demonstrates the core concept,clarifies the research position,introduces the research object,puts forward the research question,analyzes the topic selection,reviews the literature,and lays the foundation and plans the route for the development of the research on the TV series’ narrative dynamics.Chapter one,concept and connotation,explores the existence essence,diachronic evolution,synchronic dimension,basic characteristics and occurrence principle of the TV series’ narrative dynamics.Although TV media and TV series’ ontology do not directly affect the quality,they restrict and regulate the perception and expression form of the TV series’ narrative dynamics.In terms of diachronic evolution,this paper takes the history of Chinese TV series as the main line,analyzes the changes of narrative dynamics of TV series of different length,and then clearly takes Long TV Series as the main research object.In terms of synchronic dimension,from the perspective of auditory,visual and physical dimensions,analyzes the rhetorical power of the voice,image and performance narration of TV series.In terms of basic features,according to the different scope,degree and state,discusses the Overall/Branch,Strong/Weak,Dominant/ Implicit dynamic of TV series narration.Finally,from the perspective of narrative work,the Static energy/Kinetic energy of narrative dynamics is analyzed,and take the Creator/Recipient’ acting make the Text be moving as the occurrence principle of the TV series’ narrative dynamics.Chapter two,origin and extension,focuses on the dynamics of the Beginnings of TV series’ narrative progression.First,this paper explores the origin of micro-power,analyzes the starting,cause and metaphorical function of narrative beginnings,and discusses the boosting effect of relationship disclosure,motivation presentation and allegory description.Then,it focuses on the analysis of the potential energy of the narrative beginnings of TV series,and explains the static energy extension effect of the Paratext,First act and First episode of the TV series narration.Chapter three,composition and performance,is the main answer to the Why question,focuses on the dynamics of the Middles of TV series’ narrative progression.First,based on the perspective of intention,judgment and presentation,this paper reveals the cyclic interaction of Author Dynamics,Reader Dynamics and Text Dynamics in the progression of TV series narration.Then,under the premise of Plot dynamic complex,specific dynamic form analysis is carried out from the perspectives of characters,plot and space-time.The long-acting character dynamics in plot development mainly comes from Individual emotional fate,man or women versus others and group character activities.The apparent dynamics of continuous narration in plot development is mainly reflected in the serial setting of suspense and conflict,the intermittent introduction of new characters,events or scenes,and the plot delay and step by step satisfaction that tend to climax.The complex spatio-temporal dynamics in plot development are mainly brought about by Spatio-temporal scene sequence,Spatio-temporal evolution logic and Spatio-temporal fictional setting.Finally,based on the theory of Covert Progression,this paper analyzes the dual narrative dynamics of TV series,analyzes the parallel dynamics in the complementary of covert progression and plot development in the same direction,and the subvert dynamics in the reverse mutually exclusive.Chapter four,convergence and extension,focuses on the dynamics of the Ends of TV series’ narrative progression.Firstly,his paper focuses on the terminal convergence of the TV series’ narrative dynamics,discusses the different dynamic of different endings,as well as the convergence function of the narrative dynamics in Convergence and Integration.Then,citing the phenomenon of Xu Shu,from the perspective of postquel,prehistory and extras,analyzes how to deduce the follow-up story,explore the origin story,and continue the parallel story.And,discusses how this static energy of the TV series sequel is continued.Chapter five,It’s a reflection on the extension of the TV series’ narrative dynamics.First of all,based on the perspective of the separation of sources and streams,this paper analyzes the narrative differences of TV series,dialectics the similarities and differences of TV series’ narrative dynamics,and compares the particularity and generality of the internal narrative dynamics of TV series.Then,think about the narrative dynamics of Web series,the narrative dynamics of Adapted TV series,and how to optimize the Narrative Dynamics in practice.
